Sylas is unbalanced
This champ it's anoying..it restores to much hp and his abilities deal to much damage for one single trade...maybe lower the cooldowns and delete heal restore pasive...he also has shield and dash...stil it's to strong

They did nerf the heal already
They reverted the buff, hes still overtuned
Uh...what? Legit, his heal not only lost some AP, the heal amp was lowered to 175% from 200%. That's a huge hit from such a small change.
In numbers, vayne seems like a balanced champion. Shes not. Sylas, in a 1v1, not only he gets a shield, dash, enchanted autos and the ability to steal your ult but also when you think he is going to die he can just get +300 health with a single item.
I prefer to not compare the two, as they are worlds apart. Vayne in terms of numbers was never balanced. In what world is % max HP true damage okay?
Yep, but its not enough for people who want him nerfed to the ground more than Riven even though his heal has a longer cooldown compared to Vlad who can get about 5 Qs off before Sylas gets his back.
thing is with Sylas you gotta treat him a bit like riven...
He wins short burst trades ... once his abiltites go on CD thats your chance to take advantage of him .. his W and E are past 10 seconds... if you make trades while theyre on CD you can win but also if you can take a champion who win extended trades you can easily win
Whats funny is they complain about Sylas' heal, when there are a billion other abilities that heal that are far worse to deal with. Take Vlad for the most obvious answer.
If his w had no healing it would be one of the worst abilities in the game like it does less damage the kleds q and that ability is on a much shorter cooldown.

90 / 165 / 240 / 315 / 390 (+ 180% bonus AD) Countless abilities does less damage than Kleds Q
Well one that is the 2nd part of his q and takes almost 2 seconds to do. Two my point is that his w damage is low and is only ok with it hits you under below 40%. His w without healing is just a short dash with low damage that is terrible.
They ugh.... could... and this is just a simple thought experiment. Re-balance the ability in some way if it didnt have the heal... GASP! Yeah, who would have thought that an ability could be compensated. Im sure no champ was ever compensated for having a toxic kit element removed. OH WAIT, yes they have.
Sylas is being played somewhere between AP diver and AP assassin. In my view hes just super
like
is super
.
A champ made after with a lot of the same play tempo, and all the same poke, poke, dive \ or Hook, follow up CC, ult, but with more features.
The heal is a problem part of his kit, and may even get reduced more; dividing that power into his stats or other abilities. Frankly the heal, and the numbers it can reach are too high. Hard for me to say how far off they are, but for his playrate, and the MR where hes winning the most, they needed to fix him a bit. Expect that they will fix him some more at some point. I mean he has an ability that already gives him a shield.... and a dash, damage, CC... all for one ability; that may get looked at along with the W to make his Q better.
Love that no one actually says why the heal is a the problem and love that you just list off what abilities do without actually know what they do his e is a small dash that can pull him to a enemy and cc them while giving him a shield and does damage sounds strong but it's not the shield is keep him from not dying after the knock up is very short and it does 180 damage max with very low ap scaling, it is not that great.
No sylas is nothing like diana at all other then there both divers like saying sylas is better diana is like saying cait is better tris since they both have long range and are adcs. Like go fucking play diana then go play sylas they do different things like kled is probably the closest champion to sylas since both there kits play around getting close and having tools to say in fights and keep fighting, both of them have two dashes, most of there damage is overtime and not burst.
Also you can't fucking compensate taking off his heal without turning him into a assassin since you have to buff the w's damage since i you put more power into his e he is shit since his e can be easily dodged and you people would just start complaining that it is overloaded like your doing now, if you put more power into his q he is a assassin since you have to give it damage and it already has good damage.
All that swearing, youre so mad... ha.
At this point I realize you dont understand he was a poorly designed champ to begin with. He steals ults, he was ALWAYS going to be a problem.
Like go fucking play diana then go play sylas they do different things like kled
Kled and Diana are both divers. Diana can dash twice, Diana gets close, and uses her E to keep them close, she has a shield to stay in the fight, and a 3 attack passive for sustained fights....
Diana Q: COOLDOWN: 8 / 7.5 / 7 / 6.5 / 6 TARGET RANGE: 900 COST: 55 mana 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+ 70% AP)
Sylas Q: COOLDOWN: 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 TARGET RANGE: 775 EFFECT RADIUS: 180 / 200 COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana 45 / 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 (+ 60% AP) 90 / 140 / 190 / 240 / 290 (+ 120% AP)
They both have low cooldown Qs for follow up damage. Diana (like I said about Sylas) is played somewhere between a diver and an assassin. For Sylas, he has an option on his ult as the game opens up, but more than likely he will either have a mid laners ult that will be more than likly an AP burst ult, or he will be played in jg where he can roam and choose the ult that will have the most impact for him.
Diana was played in the jg alot where her gapclosing all in with CC was pretty common. There is no reason to play a gap closing AP diver named Diana when Sylas exist, just a fact. Hes better, hes more flexibility in his kit cause of the ult steal.
Also you can't fucking compensate taking off his heal without turning him into a assassin since you have to buff the w's damage since i you put more power into his e he is shit since his e can be easily dodged and you people...
I stopped at "you people"... youre so mad you cant even think straight.
Youre clearly rage hammering the keyboard and gibberish is coming out cause I said:
The heal is a problem part of his kit, and may even get reduced more; dividing that power into his stats or other abilities.
But you read take it off, but seeing how mad af you are, its not surprising you didnt read the post thoughtfully or carefully before rage retorting...
I honestly expect you to rage hammer some more nonsense, or double down on how Diana is nothing like Sylas, but an AD diver is..... Wasted enough time, youll probably read this with the same effort as the other post, little or none.
I bet we could count them if we put in minimum effort.... just saying.
its a heal + execute
and they gutted his heal late game
hes perfectly fine right now imo
you just need to learn how to build around him.

what if i don't want to?

Unfortunately, not everyone takes Ignite. The heal can still be dumb depending on how Sylas players build. I'm sure Spirit Visage is a core item on him no matter what.
just a month or so ago everyone on boards complained how OP ignite was. and how everyone takes ignite because its op and does to much damage.
also, I'm sure that the healing math goes like: (heal + additional heal) divided by heal blocking effects. Do I think he is over tuned right now? (yes) Do I know how to fix him (no, I don't really care, I usually just one shot him anyway, given the champions that i play will burst in under 1 second).
But you don't even have to build against him, because ignite is a thing. And still, for most ap assassins, we are building into morello anyway.
Dash, shield, heal, gapcloser stun Don't need any other champion, he's got it all.
and your ult.... got it all indeed.
Sylas isn't unbalanced, he's just broken. Broken design. Shield + Heal need to be balanced to not be outrageous while also fulfilling their purpose.
The very nature of his current shield and heal (mostly due to their scaling) are feast or famine. That's why it's just a broken design because it will always either be too weak or too strong depending on how the match plays out.
They'll get around to gutting Sylas, just like every other release in the last year. Although in his case it'll probably be an improvement for a change. He is really anti-fun right now.
I always have to ask. Does anyone on the boards get
against healing champs or do they just bitch?
When I see post like this I think "check history, filter by champ" .... sigh, rarely am I surprised.
Youve been playing Sylas about once a day the last few days, doing ok with him....
Sure, make the claim like thats all you need to stomp him. Of course if you want to ride the busted champ train for all its worth, you have to take a "all you gotta do" fallacy stance or the "bitching" masses my get your champ nerfed right?
I quit playing the game (technical reasons, gaming mouse broke and apparently I've been spoiled on it) shortly before he came out, of course I'm going to try him out.
I have literally 6-7 games on him, mastery 2, and apparently I'm 'riding a busted champ train'? (and 1/4/1 & 2/9/7 is ok with him?)
Just cling to whatever fallacy makes you not have to think about the argument xD
Champs are going to do stuff. Having a self-heal doesn't make it broken. He's a melee mage who, despite being stupidly sticky, has a hard time running away, he needs some survivability. Would you rather they gave him almost a second of invincibility?
Sylas is simply broken design, and as such he will never be balanced. He has the kit of an AP bruiser but no itemization to support it, so the kit itself has to compensate for the lack of proper items. But wait, there's more - he also doesn't have a reliable ultimate. So, once again, the rest of his kit has to compensate for that so he'd feel as a champion even without his ultimate.
With that in mind, you have a PQWE that not only holds the power budget of basic abilities, but also the power budget of itemization AND the power budget of an ultimate. You have an abomination with burst of an assassin, sustained damage of a fighter and CC/survivability of a tank; yet another example of Riot asking themselves if they could without stopping to ask if they should.

This
I hate when people try to rationalize dumb and broken abilities. Sylas's heal is an inherently broken ability and nothing short of making it completely dog shit will make it a fair ability. I legitimately thought it was a joke when I first saw his W ability reveal. Paired with the fact that he gets a huge shield, it makes it nearly impossible to fight him. He is so ridiculously safe with trading; he does really good damage and then gets out perfectly fine due to his shield and heal. Think Renekton E, W, Q, and E out combo but unlike Renekton even if you try to fight back after he already has a shield up when you start fighting. Also, the increased healing with low health is almost punishing you for doing well in a fight. Let's not forget the fact that his massive heal is a point and click ability, so he is guaranteed to skyrocket in HP while fighting with no drawback. I have gone up against so many Sylas's that live, because they were at like 50 HP and instantly jumped to 500 just from clicking on me. By the way, I will always say this no matter what, "It's not healthy and doesn't count as legitimate counter play when you have to buy a certain item to stand an actual chance against a champion." i.e.
. Sylas isn't the only one guilty of this. I think Zed ultimate is whack as fuck. This is an ability where you are forced to buy an item (
) to even stand a chance, because you are otherwise at a huge disadvantage.
I believe Sylas is to be low range and vulnerable at range. If he gets in your face, you should be in trouble. I'm not saying he's balanced, but is there a better way to alter him while keeping his design points?
Nerf Aftershock.
This way you can fight back and nuke him.
Now the thing is here, AP Bruiser itemization doesn't Exist. Even if you remove heal from Akali or Aatrox, there's still deathdance and hextech, while Sylas has none.
dash with a shield. hmmmmmmmm what other broken champion has that?
Yeah his sheild mitigates way too much damage he can 4v1 easily once he gets spirit visage. I shut him down as vi 0/4 while both he and I were junglers and by the end of the game hes like 13/5 thats some bs
