Why are plat 3 players in my games when I'm gold 5?

For real though. If they have similar mmr to me shouldn't they be in gold 4 or 5? If they don't have similar mmr to me why are they in the same game?

And its not like they have some silver 2 player rouding out the mmr. The lowest will be like gold 1. Makes no sense.
