LoL Matchmaking Internal Problems

This is my first post, so hopefully people will still value my opinion, even though I am not a forum veteran. To preface my thoughts, I will say that I started playing LoL in Season 1, towards the beginning of this game's glorious life. I have played ranked all four seasons, and have never been able to get above 1500 elo. Maybe it's my computer, maybe I'm just not that good. It seems strange though then that someone that has played as much as I have is still in the Silver division. I have friends who are gold, plat, and diamond, and they say that I am better than where I am at. I would agree. But, despite my desperation I will progress. I will try to figure out why maybe that is the case.

I play League of Legends most everyday I can, it is fun, and ranked mode is very competitive and engaging. However, that is true 60% of the time. During the other 40% something terrible happens. What happens is, as a player that is battle tested in this game, has seen it all a, I am queued up with something who has played only 2 ranked games ever...

It seems odd with so many people playing LoL that the matchmaking internal formulas are adding up these players and suggesting that they are of similar value and skill. I hope I am not ranting without a purpose, as I did skim something in the patch notes about matchmaking reworks, but this is a serious problem, that is totally avoidable. How is the current system fair? How do you guys at Riot match us? I think matchmaking needs to take into account sheer games played. Someone who won 15 in a row could be madly lucky or a great player. But there is also someone out there that is in silver 3 who has played 1000 games.

I want to go over some math to frame the bigger concept. The chance that someone who should be in a much higher division, that has been held down by afks, trolls, dc's, negative attitudes, and rage quiters, is not smaller than 1 in a million, and I would assume its much more common maybe 1 in 25,000. That means at the least there are 30-1200 players out there(assuming 30 million people play, and yes thats a wide range) that are so dissatisfied with the game and the community that they eventually quit for a season because they are just so fustrated. These are people who should be plat but might be stuck in high silver divisions.

Granted people agree with my ideas, although the numbers may seem sketchy, this is bad business on all acounts. There could be a substantial amount of players that are suffering for no fault of their own. Riot is potentially losing money by turning players away. As other games gain popularity the community and matchmaking issues will become more significant. And this is an easy fix I believe. Add greater criteria for ranked matchmaking, I will wait 5 minutes to play a much better, more organized game of League. I'm tire of queuing in 10 seconds, and find that I'm Silver I, and theirs three bronzes on each team. Their is no reason for that to exist.
