I'm gold, why am I playing with diamond players?

I've been playing a few games today, and i noticed that some players i'm being put in the same game with are diamond, I'm nowhere near good enough for diamond. I'm playing games and just getting shitkicked all game, this is lame as hell

I envy you. I'd so much rather get the shit kicked out of me by diamonds than have to carry silvers game after game after game.

I'm in Gold and I'm pretty consistently matched with Platinum and Diamond players in normal games. I think I've had about 7 Master players in my last 40 games as well.

I don't really mind it since it's fun to play against them and if I'm being matched against them this consistently, I must be doing pretty well and it's interesting to see how they play certain champions and matchups.

Why not try learning from them instead of complaining? If you're gold, it means you're pretty average, so pick up on what they do: how they lane, where they ward, when they take objectives, when they roam.

This is in every competitive game ever created. There will be people better and worse than yourself. Watch and adapt.

Because you may be above your current rank or you got a good MMR?

Gold is not average, that would be silver.
