Why do we have to pay for champions?

I don't really see the point of paying for champions in free to play game.

I earn all of my champions. Paying for champions is just for people who don't have time to play the game, that's also why XP boosts are only purchasable, for people who have more money than time.

I own every champ in the game on my main account and I've paid RP for maybe 3 of them.

You just pick up the ones you want with IP as you play the game. It's a simple concept really.

Some people find unlocking things over time to be enjoyable. Also, you feel more attached to your account, since you grinded/bought all your stuff, and are less likely to troll/grief/feed/afk/script/hack, because you fear losing all your hard work.
