The Udyr one is arguably the best due to how much it improves the base.

Udyr's ultimate is literally his VU but in skin form and highly contributes to why he hasn't gotten a VU.

Imagine how bad his "ultimate" skin would be if his base skin model and animations were updated.

His Ultimate skin would still be stellar if he gets a VGU, because they'd update his ultimate as well. They NEVER just VGU some of the skins of a champion, it's all or nothing.

Ezreal's VGU will be the first foray into this. His ultimate, Pulsefire, is at current not even worth 3250, and is barely above 1820 quality. This VGU will show us what they're really capable of when it comes to updating Ultimate skins.

They've actually already done this in the past, Steel Legion Garen is one example.

With how old Ezreal is though, they will most likely be updating that skin as well.

Udyr on the other hand, his ultimate is already up to modern standards, so there's a chance they would leave it as is like they did with Steel Legion.

Garen got a VU, not a VGU. They likely didn't need to update Steel Legion because it was already new when they did his VU. Ezreal and Udryr are not in that same boat, nor do their ultimate skins use components of the base skin.

There's not a most likely. That's a definite, because the skin looks horrible, and isn't even remotely close to 3250 standards.

Udyr's ultimate skin was released in like 2013. It's not up to modern standards, and even if it was, it's not enough of a deviation from base Udryr to keep at as it is. It would HAVE to be change if they updated Udyr, because I can't imagine how they'd be able to avoid using elements from that skin in his VGU. Plus, so many components of Udyr would change during a VGU because he's such an ancient champion, and it'd require way too much work to try to preserve the skin as is if the kit is going to be changing in a future VGU.

Those components for the ultimate could just get new visuals just like any other GU that doesn't involve a VU.

Like Rengar's old new Q or Xin Zhao's new W.

I'm just saying it's been done before and is entirely possible. If they don't drastically change the base appearance of Udyr, I don't imagine this skin changing much.

But if they change the kit to not be just "swap form, attack, swap form, attack," which will most likely be the case, as his playstyle is pretty uninteresting and underwhelming in aesthetic, they'll have to change the Ultimate skin. I do not foresee the Ultimate skin remaining untouched if Udyr gets a VGU, because he's in need of more comprehensive work that will require more kit elements to change.

They had to rebuild Rengar's Q though when they "reverted" him. Plus build new animations on it for his Mecha skin as it didn't exist before then.

I'd argue that Lux has then best Ultimate. Udyr's was pretty good at the time of release but over the years it's not held up that well.

i quite like the system, even though i don't get enough orange essence to actually redeem them i at least know i can eventually do it LOL

They still are. I mean, one crate in 1000000 might have something good, but no matter the skins, 90% of them will still contain champion shards

I got pulsefire ezreal permanent (didn't need to unlock with essence) from the masterwork event chest a couple months ago. I think it was for the midseason invitational event.

I also got an elementalist lux skin shard from a hextech chest that I disenchanted because I never play her and it costs way too much orange essence to unlock.

I got a couple of higher-tiered skins from those I think- though admittedly they all kinda blur together so I can't remember which ones. I remember tossing basically all the other skins for orange essence repeatedly until I had enough for at least one of them.

I got DJ Sona from chest back then when there was old client (F) crafted it when riot did Project event when Ashe, Kata and Ekko got skins, bought 10 chests and got enough essence to craft her. Elementalist Lux I bought when she was released to get that border and Spirit Guardian Udyr got from rerolling 3 skins. Would like to get Ezreal as the last Ultimate Skin.

Nice stuff. I personally got Elementalist Lux at the end of a bulk buy of chests. What a surprise that was.

What's also interesting is that when I looked at the Master Edition pack for the skin in store, it was around 700 rp for the Ward Skin and 5 icons.

Sometimes you do get lucky. I've had Hextech Kogmaw and Gatekeeper Galio so far. I think it's to make up for the fact you get shit most of the time. I mean I've played Malzahar for 2 seasons now and got my first skin on him YESTERDAY lol) This was all from free chests though
