Ranked game disaster

Just would like someone to know how disappointing this season has been so far. Gross amounts of lag, toxic play environment, (which lets be honest your never going to hold summoners to manners anyway so I don't know why I bring it up) Keystones which are completely unbalanced which and you what ... forgot to fix in the last patch?? Your brand new queuing system is broke. You've completely dropped the ball in all locations just in time for placements, which in fact is broke too. More summoners than not are being dropped leagues regardless of performance. How is this acceptable? How are we not being compensated for time for such an insanely abysmal start? Why should I keep playing this season?

This is a legitimate question. @Riot How are you not apologizing for this? How are we not getting something for our time wasted?

I actually don't mind this season, granted I'm pretty new in terms that I started early of last season. There aren't nearly as many thunderlords anymore, (Grasp of the Undying is godly top if you didn't know yet) and supports usually have windspeakers/bond of stone. The champ select was a bust, I'll give you that. I definitely think it could've used more than a couple days on the PBE before going live, but it's no reason to be mad over. It just means we go back to the old select form for a bit until it's fixed. Lag hasn't been an issue for me personally, but I have noticed an increase in toxicity recently which has been kind of a bummer. Overall, I think it's going pretty good save a few things which is really nothing to get so worked up over.

Maybe its not something to hate life over, but after 6 years of dealing with the same awful trash talk it just makes me a bit bitter when I see the same kids who logs on and fearlessly talks horribly to their teammates and walk right out unscathed. I think people overestimate the amount of action that Riot takes to create a clean game play. Think about this. When riot makes a disciplinary action. You receive a message in game thanking you for taking the time to report them. i have reported literally hundreds of people, and received that message once. And that in itself is a completely unnecessary argument. All you need for evidence is to login and lose a game or perform poorly and the fireworks start immediately. So whats the solution? I mute everyone? Why am I the one that needs to limit my interaction with players when they are the ones, who without fear, piss all over the unenforced "summoners code." This is an ongoing issue that's happened since the beginning of this game. But you agree with me about this, Right?

Then the two major changes to this game which were keystones and queues. Maybe we don't play the same champs, but Thunder lords for most champs will always do better. If you'll note, even in the patch preview, its something that they admittedly just didn't work on or missed or however you want to put it. Keystones are supposed to be, from what they've said from their mouths, "game changers," to have a great impact on the game and all completely valid depending on your own play style. For ever adc, assasins, poke mage there is one Keystone that's viable. Its not even a debate. Watch streamers.

I'm legitimately curious why people just let this slide. All my placement matches were done in what have might as well have been a Season 5 setting. I feel like Riot has reached a point where they're like eh.. were making money now, we don't need to concern ourselves with these small issues. We don't need to be on point anymore in time for placements. People will still play and not hold us to anything.

I suppose we have different personal preferences. They didn't nerf Thunderlords because they wanted to make the other keystones just as strong as thunderlords, hence the buffs. Now I only see about 5 thunderlords in a game instead of the customary 9-10, and it can't be an instant fix. They have to observe and adapt, as has always been when changing the game and taking it in new directions. As for the banning, that's a slippery slope. If they continue with their lack of judgement as they are now, people will continue getting mad at how trolls and toxic players get away with no harm. If they decide to reinforce passing judgement, it is almost impossible not to go overboard and begin banning people for silly stuff as false reports are almost just as common as toxic players. If you can think of a solution go ahead

Enforce the summoners code? I understand what you mean truly. If you become to aggressive then people will be banned for no reason. But the only way that would be a danger is if whoever was reviewing the report didn't have any discretion and people were being banned for no good reason. That only happens if you delegate your job to a 13 year old who drank to much Mountain Dew or hates life or lets everyone off the hook. Because if you read a chat log , its really not that hard to figure out whats happening. And further, as it is now its really the same ending as what you mentioned. If multiple people from the same game report me for defending another player or have a bad game, I will likely get a warning that my recent behavior is not in line with the summoners code, which over time will give me a chat restriction. The problem is that they dont have to care because in the end people will still play the game or heck, what if 1000 people stopped playing due to a toxic environment. You think that would really phase them? They're world wide. So they delegate it to the tribunal. Do you remember the days when they first started and if the game was down or having extended technical issues, they would give you IP or boosts or in some case RP. I dont think Riot is helpless as you think they are. Its a matter of Riot enforcing what they want . Prove to me that the whole system is not automated beyond the tribunal. Prove to me that if a bunch of toxic players gang up on me and report me that I wont get disciplinary action. I mean they say that its not how its handled, but they also say a lot of things. Here's what i know and you know is true. Its been a terrible atmosphere for 5 years and its getting worse. You know that. That's fact. I'm curious why people don't expect more for such a well established company. Season 1, I get it. Make the game playable. Season 6 though... I mean.... really? Are your expectations so low after 6 seasons? We have put men on the moon and you cant come up with a solution to get people to behave on a video game? Literally had someone that did nothing but provoke me and feed the whole game while his buddy boosted him. Do you think the team his buddy carried is going to say anything? Do you think my own team gives a crap? Is that how you want the game to be played? Do you like when that happens? How confident are you in your defendant that Riot is doing anything to that player?

Just played a game an hour after posting this. I got a behavior warning for a game I said nothing in. So tell me again how if changes are made your worried whether people getting reported for "silly stuff." I didn't just get reported. I got a warning telling me my recent behavior has been subpar. Now when I get banned what are the chances I'm going to time with a Riot employee to defend myself. And why do I get warnings in games like that? What person would say,,,, this guy needs a warning. He just went over the line.... for saying not a thing. Tell me its not automated .

.... continued .... its now a few hours later of playing with a mixture of afk'ers and people 2 leagues above my own. Final game SuperRickxd told me to fck off you stupid fcking %%%% face who will no doubt not have a thing happen to him despite my reporting him. Im torn between giving Riot a high five for duping the masses into thinking they care about what happens in game. And uninstalling. Your right though man its a slippery slope when considering how to enforce the summoners code.

To put things in perspective, if Riot began using real people to review reports, it would cause even more problems than the automated system does today. Riot gets billions of reports every day. Just imagine millions of people play the game at once, and if there was about 1 report for every game, and people play multiple games, that could reach incredibly high numbers. They would be swamped!

As for your games, you seem to have incredibly bad luck when being matched with teammates. Although, while not trying to accuse you, it could be possible that you were reported because you wouldn't talk. League is a team game that is communication-oriented.

I don't exactly get placed with super happy people either. This guy was...uh...exceptionally bad. For background info:

  • Zed wasn't doing well, while not necessarily feeding he didn't provide much to teamfights
  • Xin Zhao fed pretty hard and wasn't talking in chat
  • These two people pissed of the adc a lot, and he took to the chat to rage
  • He explained that his main account got perma-banned because he could rage
  • When I asked why he continues raging and didn't learn from the experience he stated that he can just keep making accounts to continue to "rage at idiots cuz it's fun"
  • He also made several racist remarks, some that I'm not sure would be appropriate to repeat on the forums.

If the content of this image is considered to vulgar for the boards I would be more than happy to remove it, or go ahead and remove it yourself if you have the power

While I wish people like this could be stopped, I would much rather have a single bad person like him continue than have multiple innocents get unnecessarily banned.

Are their faults in the reporting system? Definitely. No doubt about it. Is there a better way to handle the report system for a game of multi-billion players? I have absolutely no idea. I just keep a positive attitude and try move on.

P.S.- sorry about the late reply. Exams week sucks item 3070 item 3070
