I am sure this shows up all the time, but I have experienced many 20+ minute queues over the last few days in a silver 1 queue. It kills me that, at such a mediocre level of play, it is still impossible to find games.
Even worse, why is my estimated queue time always 1/10th the actual queue time. Why bother to estimate it at all...it is a game crushing experience.
Less people playing Dynamic queue thus causing the timers to go up. Lots of people doing this to hopefully kill off the game mode as a whole.
Are you solo? Stop queuing up so we can see something done about Dynamic queue.
It's because they don't account for you role choice with the estimate. So if you don't have support/fill as one of your roles, you're in a for a long wait.
IDK why it's gotten so bad lately, maybe some people are taking the whole "boycott dynamic queue" thing seriously?
You are supposed to play support for the other people, as riot intended.
Unless you're support, then you get a game right away. I've given up on ranked this season. Games feel more random then ARAM and as a support main I feel even less inpactful then in seasons past.

Last time I tried to play my first match took 4 minutes to find in silver III, my 4 man premade went straight off-meta picks (which is ok) but bot was 1-10 in the first 10 minutes, so I lost. They also forced me out of my role AFTER i picked, letting me know we were going to open mid and have 3 bot; they refused to trade for draven and so I was stuck as draven mid.
My next game, not really caring anymore because apparently the role I pick is meaningless, I queued up fill in silver IV (yay demotionz) almost immediately after. Even on fill it took 13 minutes to find a game, only to do the most dmg to champs in the game and lose by a mile with 0 followup from my team, instead opting to go in 1 by 1 by 1 after I initiated and chunked the enemy team.
I don't think I've played since then. Can't imagine a world where that's a fun gaming experience. Wait 17 minutes in queues to play games where 50% was trolled and 50% was my team being vastly outskilled.
That's just life though. I'll be back when they fix this fiasco, if they don't I don't really mind I played enough in s4 to get my rewards and stopped playing about a month into the season, I came back at the end of s5 to just have quick games after watching some streamers play and making it look fun. It's definitely not fun anymore so there is just no point in pretending it is.
Can I take a wild guess that you're a Jungle/Mid player? Try going for different rolls, those ones are pretty highly contested. [slayer-jinx-catface]

Really? Maybe it's because you're Silver 1 and nearing Gold, but I'm Silver 4 and I always get a game immediately. Maybe it's because the league they put me in is all full of players who recently finished their promos, but every time I que up I get a game in a minute or two. (In case people are wondering, I go Support and ADC :P)
To be fair, who in their right mind would volunteer to play Support in Silver? I honestly think i would rather have teeth pulled than hold hands with a toxic silver

Try to cancel from queue and queue again... Your queue times SHOULD NOT exceed 3mins in silver.
It's a bug, just restart it.
While I won't say "the roof is on fire" I will say that it should be telling that this happens in Silver.
Silver still currently has the highest population of ranked players (at least in NA, can't say otherwise). When even SILVER has anything above 2 minute Queue times, it should flash some big red light.
When the rank that has the largest percentage of players (as far as ranked goes), and anyone at any point somehow has up to even a 5 minute queue (regardless of role), then something is wrong.
trick I've found is just, if your q time goes over 5 minutes, restart your q, sometimes it works, idk why. other than that, you could always just play support.
