ARAM - Reducing amount of dodged games

Dear reader,

I think there are many players who faced issues with ARAM when they finally got one of their favorite champions to play in ARAM, that some other player dodged, simply because he didn't like the champion he got.

You could imagine the frustration when instead of the champion he liked most he returns to a game and getting Nunu instead.

So the idea I had was to store the id of the champion each user gained in the last ARAM game and once some1 dodges, everyone will get the same champion he orignally had during previous (dodged) ARAM game.

By doing this I think people will no longer dodge as many ARAM games.

I play nothing but ARAM and although I feel your pain your suggestion kind of kills the whole random part of ARAM.

I kinda disagree. Dodging to get another champ kills the whole point of playing ARAM.

You got a random champion assigned, so play it. Don't dodge to get another one imo.

One problem with that proposal is that it complicates matchmaking. How does the system handle two (or more) players with the same stored champ, especially if they're in the same premade group?

Agreed, it would complicate matchmaking. I guess one of those players should randomly get a new champion assigned in case the premade group suddenly consists of other players.

SInce most likely you are with a group of 2 or more premade players. If someone dodges the game it is most likely you would still want to play the game with the same set of premade players which all have a different champion stored.

Only if the premade group changes that complex scenario would occur. Perhaps combine the stored champion with a date of the dodge event and the most recently stored would get that champion assigned in case of duplicates, where the other summoner would get a new randomly assigned champion.

Also since IMO this suggestion would reduce the amount of dodges by atleast 50% of the dodges in ARAM. I think it would not be the case most of the situations. (Knowing the fact that people who dodge will get the same champion, would prevent them from dodging)
