Why should We loss LP for people who goes AFK?

Hi, all, I am a diamond player, and I just got very angry from my last game that we had a people who does not even connected from the start of game. In the early game, all lanes are winning. We went to like 10-2 in the early game. I know it does not means we already win the game, but we are very likely ganna win. However, we just had a mid line AFK from the start of game. Its a diamond rank game so even we were lead, it is very hard to win the game for 4v5. I think everyone should have experienced situation like this. I do not know how you guys feel, but I really want to question RIOT, why should we loss LP for a game like this? The people goes AFK need to pay for it. I really want that guy loss all LP for us.

Only reason I can think of is because they don't want people to bully one person to afk if people are losing or to abuse the system as such.

This is exactly Riot's reason as to why they don't do something like OP suggested. Not saying I agree or not, just giving info

Honestly, I try to look at both sides of it. Yes, there is nothing more annoying or infuriating then losing LP for a game that was winnable and you had absolutely no control over, it is one of the reasons this game will always have some semblance of a luck factor, on the flip side however, people hark on and on about how this community is the absolute worst of the worst and if you don't think people will go out of their way, even more so then now, to remove the element hurting the team's victory for the sake of saving their own hides, you are mistaken.
