I believe users would be very happy to be able to edit the interface. I know I would. Being able to put active items next to your abilities would be amazing. I am not sure if you are familiar with World of Warcraft, but they have an add on called bartender that is amazing. It lets you move around abilities and items wherever you want on the screen. This would be cool, but most of the playerbase is already used to what they use that this feature would likely be wasted. Having a feature like this would be a cool addition to a new game or remake, but adding it to an existing game feels wasted since most people are just going to use what they've been using for thousands of games.
