Not sure if this has been brought up before, but as someone who enjoys Sivir, I'm not particularly fond that can run into Soraka Q with spellshield up to get mana but it still gives her a heal. Anything else cc/damage gets nullified by my shield but she still gets to heal off of me. I wonder if that was intended and what the motivation behind that was?
Every spell that has an effect on you and on the caster as well work this way. You can deny the enemy the ability to damage and CC you, but you can't deny them any buff or other advantage gained over hitting you with the skill (be it Soraka's healing or Leona's dash). She gets healed for hitting a champion, not damaging them. She hit you. She didn't damage/slow you because you timed your shield well, but she hit you, so she gets HP.
