"Not my fault your such a tryhard"

So i was just stuck in a 40 minute game which was practically a 3v5. The enemy weren't really great, so our support and jungle was able to hold the enemy at bay most of the game. However as we found out rather early in the game, was that our top and mid were some interesting fellows. We had a leblanc who was struck by the SivHD fever and believed to be on the same lvl of juking expertise, while litteraly failing every single time she tried, resulting in her lost lane and an increasing death counter. Our top was a Nasus riding his tractor. While it is important for a nasus to stack his Q early to become a one hit god, there is more important objectives after the 40 minute mark. But not for this Nasus, even when called to help push a lane or group at whatever was needed, he simply didn't answer. Buuuut eventually he told us that he was trying to beat his stacking record......in a pvp match....with other players who are relying on him....yep. Ofc it resulted in the team losing, when confronted about his behavior and lack of teamplay he simply answered "Not my fault your such a tryhard". Because as you all know, wanting to group up and push objectives so you can win a match makes you a tryhard. Anyways, just wanted you guys to hear of yet another classic example of our lovely community. And remember guys, if you try to win a game, your a damn tryhard. XD

"Tryhard" is the dumbest of insults. I don't even take offense to it when people say it to me. Like, since when was it bad to try your hardest at something? More importantly, who even cares?

Same thing with "weeaboo". Like, people seem to think that it's somehow inherently wrong to like anime.

None of it makes any sense and I really just have to roll my eyes when people say things like that.

Yeah, it's frustrating when people troll, then blame you for it.

I agree with the "tryhard" as an insult, but a "weaboo" is a real thing IMO. There are people that like anime (such as myself) and then people that are way too obsessed. You'll know what I mean if you personally know one IRL.

Laraso2 votes

Yes. The problem is that people on the internet like to call anyone who even mentions the word anime a weeaboo, even if they've shown no signs of obsession.

Orangesilk1 votes

Spoken like a true weeb.

Simplicate2 votes

I thought weeaboo had to do more with the obsession of Japanese culture itself.

"Weeaboo" is the word that is said when your typical violent stupid meets an anime stupid.

you don't even know what weeb means you buck bumble

I know full well what a weeaboo is. It's someone who is obsessed with Japan and its culture, and ignores their own, often incorporating phrases like "kawaii" and "desu" into their every day speech.

The thing is, I don't see anybody online use it like that, I only see it used to hate on people who like anime.

Now, "buck bumble" on the other hand, I'm clueless as to what that means. It's the first time I've heard it.

I think a lot of it stems from jealousy. Jealous that you're winning, and probably having a better time because winning is fun. Or maybe they're lying to themselves to feel better about losing.

I agree with the weeaboo thing too, not to mention that word just sounds absolutely ridiculous and seems more an insult on the intellect of the person using it than anything.

I generally respond to the word "tryhard" with the following phrase:

"And on that day I learned that trying hard to accomplish something was a bad thing."

EvilRabbitt1 votes

I usually just mute. They get two shots. Once is frustration, twice is flame. If I get 2 or more flaming (anyone on the team, not just me) then its all team mute until I pull us ahead. =D Such a tryhard, I am.

Meaningless insults are meaningless.

I call players tryhards when they try to outplay the enemy, when the enemy tries to outplay me or anyone else on my team and fails miserably

Sounds like you were raging and you're team was just having a good time. relax man. It's just a game.

Occams Raiser5 votes

This is a shut the fuck up statement. However you meant. A man told you he got trolled by someone and your response was to say something he already knows. What is the likelihood he was holding his mouse and keyboard and forgot he was playing a game? Take him at his word and say You hate trolls like the next man.

General Spacey1 votes

just play ranked mate. Much harder to find trolls if you get out of bronze.

IceKingChernobog4 votes

are you kidding me, ranked is full of trolls no matter what division you're in

T RexHasLongLegs1 votes

Yeah but less things about tryhard in terms of trolls. I mean I'm not gonna screw around in ranked (well except when I hit X5 of a new tier because it's the only time I can fill for my team and just play random champs in whatever roll my team wants me to and not lose LP if we don't win. It's nice to not feel like you have to carry some times, and I got a few wins with new champs when I hit a new tier and then I'm refreshed and enjoying playing my main champ again after the short break.), but in normals I've definitely played champs I just bought and am looking at in spawn reading the skills to see what they do. Bots are too easy to stomp so if you want to learn anything you play normals and that means sometimes you look like a troll while learning stuff.

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

Agreed that's not stuff for normals, but we should get a gamemode with no hard, focus-requiring gameplay, where you just lane to oblivion and there's no weird stuff like ganks, rotations, warding... like a series of lanes with walls in between, so you get to joke with your team and give a look at them playing without interference.

Budupops1 votes

people are allowed to do anything in normals? stop being toxic

2DarkRippEr21 votes

i once got a comment from a guy when we were beating them he said and i quote "Wow such tryhards only win cause rek'sai carry you" (reksai=me) and i wasnt even fed i was like 4/1 xD

Meep Man1 votes

The only time to call someone a tryhard is when they are literally commanding people around in a game and expect them to perform ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and yell at them when they don't. Im not talking about "Hey guys, why didn't you help get Dragon?" Im talking about "Middle, go get the enemy's blue, but be sure to get it quick enough to help Dragon... WTF MIDDLE NOT QUICK ENOUGH NOW WE HAVE TO BACK OFF FROM DRAGON! Ok... Top Lane, steal their red when they are down he... WHY ARE YOU PUSHING BOTTOM LANE!"

Cansema1 votes

it was a normal... why the QQ man... just start another one and move on. Nothing lost but the expected time you where going to use anyway.

T RexHasLongLegs1 votes

I doubt it's what they meant, but I definitely think that anyone who expects me to play a normals game the way I expect a ranked game is trying too hard in normals and should go play ranked. I mean, normals are meant to be fun and not the same pressure to win as ranked. I definitely try to win if I play a normal, but I also don't mind playing a champ I've never played (I'll do that in ranked sometimes even, but only if I read a guide first, know the abilities, and they play similar to something I already play in ranked. I don't do any of that if I play it in normals, just jump in blind and learn.), playing a champ in a different role than how I know to play them, or trying an item build I never have and want to experiment to see if I like.

While I think the try hard insult is stupid and funny to use, and personally would give no sh*ts about a stack record, I can see someone who cared about that wanting to break it and focusing on that, and I say as long as it is in normals and they aren't intentionally trying to throw (feeding, not hitting towers when they can, telling enemy team when you are about to gank them or something) why shouldn't they? If that's something they want to do, the probably want to do it against a lane opponent who can fight them and make it challenging or they would just do it in bots or a custom. It has more meaning to hit particular achievements vs actual players trying to stop you, and yeah I may not be trying as hard as I can to win, but that's what normals are for, trying out different stuff, blowing off steam after ranked, seeing what you can get away with doing that is unconventional and still lets you win. What's the problem with that?
