Why am I playing against people who are Gold 1 when I am Silver 1 in ranked?

Title. I'd rather wait an extra 2-3 minutes for a game and vs people more around my level. SO STUPID. Why does Riot do this? Is it because my normals MMR is fucked? Is it interfering with my ranked mmr? How can I fix it??????????

That means that your skill level/MMR is the equivalent of a Gold 1. You should be proud.
