Remember folks Feedback is important

MarshCreature··4 votes·586 views

Remember folks Riot needs feedback to make changes that make the majority of players happy but feedback is not complaining and saying "change this riot i don't like it" you have to provide information as to why the feature or mechanic needs a change and possibly provide a solid idea as to what could be done to improve it, Riot is constantly looking for feedback but the mountains of negative posts drown the positive feedback and complaining alone will not give them an idea of what the player base wants so they make silly changes that piss people off , please give riot ideas and solutions to the problematic changes. make riot employees live's a little easier by writing solid well though out posts, you can save a poro for every bit of positive feedback. help make the boards great and don't forget to upvote the positive posts or funny ones.

PS- riot employees eat a poro for every negative post on the boards save the poros.

They don't listen to 95% of the feedback anyways

because 95 percent of the feedback is from silver/bronze players talking about nerfs/buffs, op this, op that.

I think it'ed be a benefit to all if they stopped considering low elo opinions on this stuff. Atleast Diamond 4 to have a real voice please.

Not really. You'd be alienating a lot of the playerbase who can still have valid opinions and suggestions just because of their skill level. The majority of the playerbase resides in Bronze/Silver if I remember correctly, so that wouldn't be a good idea.

Stupid people exist in every elo, so preventing certain players from offering opinions would be a bad move by Riot.

What people need to realize is feedback usually means having a well-written message that helps identify the problem using examples and sources. Also, suggesting fixes that make sense helps with a clear reasons as to "why" it needs a specific change. The majority of the time the feedback is just people in general screaming "X IS OP PLS DELETE", so that's why it's thrown out.

But Riot does listen to the good feedback. Good as in it makes sense and is done correctly.

you just say that coz you are silver

Well considering I don't play a lot of ranked, I guess you'd say I'm unranked. But really, I say this more as a business decision on Riot's part, and not because "you are silver".

Alienating the majority of your customers to cater to a select few is a quick way to lose business. Hence why Riot hasn't done such a thing.

Kind of Business 101 really.

Plus, did you know the majority of Riot employees are in Bronze/Silver/Gold? :P I don't think they'd enjoy alienating themselves when it came to decisions on the game they work on :P

He is rofl. Silver means they have a lot more capacity for bad thoughts than good thoughts. xD Doesn't mean they don't have good ones, it just means it's sort of rare. xD

While it's important that the game has some sort of resonating balance down there, I don't believe that they have the ability to have striking and coherent thoughts on balance, because they don't participate in the realm where a lot of this stuff makes a difference. You can do 90% of the things wrong, and still be silver. You can build AD raka, and make it through silver. They like to think that the gameplay that they're doing is meaningful, and has meaningful choices. It really doesn't, it's really simple and black and white. It's important to consider them, but not so much that it removes depth.

Yeah, a lot of dumb people exist. A lot of intelligent, well minded people do too. Here, let's not make the exception the rule. The vast majority of lower elo players aren't knowledgeable, and their opinions are usually just too baron and lack perspective. I also however, understand that my knowledge isn't complete. Otherwise, i wouldn't be Diamond 5. Though, i'm good enough to comment on a lot of stuff in a general sense.

A lot of these threads are by people who aren't knowledgeable. The vast majority of them are in lower divisions. There are some from higher divisions, but you can't point to one example and go "SEE!! SEE!! this guys full of stuff! One example!" An informed opinion just doesn't come from the ignorant. It can't happen, or may be an anomaly.

Oh I'm well aware there are more Bronze/Silver players who incorrectly supply "feedback" compared to Diamond. I never said Bronze/Silver were right haha. I just said removing the majority of the playerbase from discussion is a bad idea. In a business sense and when it comes to healthy discussion.

There are far more players in those elos, so obviously there's going to be more uneducated ones compared to Diamond where the percentage is smaller, so the level of uneducated players is lower, yes? But that doesn't mean all of them are not smart enough to create professional feedback on legitimate issues. Granted, while the uneducated in Bronze/Silver outweigh the smart ones, this doesn't mean we should prevent all of them from providing feedback. Because if the feedback is god awful Riot can just ignore it, and the rest of the board can tell that player how wrong they are if they decide to post it here ;P

Obviously Riot takes a lot of what the board says with a grain of salt anyways since the majority of it is just baseless complaining, but I would never prevent anyone from at least trying to provide substantial feedback. Key word is trying. Regardless if they're right or wrong, discussion is very important. It allows others to bounce back ideas, see things from a different perspective, and allows previously ignorant players to eventually become educated when chatting with other players who are of a "higher caliber" so to say. Isn't that what we want? For everyone to eventually understand the game at a better level?

But that's just my view on it.

If we're talking about testing though, like internal testers are Riot, then by god those players should be required to be Diamond+ haha. Which they are if I remember correctly. But being a play tester is different than providing feedback. Play testing is usually a job, whereas feedback is voluntary.

Ah i see. I would happen to agree mostly. God damn, I'm becoming a filthy Authoritarian. If i apply that perspective to politics, that's one hell of a messed up view...
