Try not to penta!
I'm sure the majority of the people in here won't comprehend this and will just disagree, but I noticed another pattern related to matchmaking.
Every time I quadra or penta I get a 1v9 the next 1 - 3 games. I get 4 people who have like 10 cs at 20 minutes and 5 enemies with the best mechanics I have ever seen, the most cs at 20 minutes, etc....just crazy good people on the enemy team.
I know why Riot does it, they want to make it a better experience for the bad players or new players or w/e. What they don't realize though is that they are punishing people for being skilled.
Sure I was playing yi and he doesn't take that much skill (well he takes more than a lot of people realize because of how much cc is in the game now) but either yi is op or he isn't. If he's OP then they should nerf him. If not then w/e. Giving me a trash team and beast enemy team and just making the game awful for me isn't really fair. I feel like I should be apologizing for playing well.
I like that they put me against better people. I don't care if my teammates suck. These 2 things are perfectly fine, by themselves. But no, this is Riot's matchmaking system so they have to hit you with both. x9. 4 baddies. 5 beasts. Nothing less. I always love a good challenge...my entire life I have always wanted more challenge in everything I do. IF i'm not being challenged I get this feeling of boredom and move on. However, I don't get that feeling in these games. This isn't a challenge. This is punishment. That's how I know it's part of the algorithm. If they were just putting me in difficult BUT EVEN games, I would know. It's just a feeling you get after you play a long time.
You know, when you have a sona top with 9 cs at 20 minutes. The enemy support has more cs lmao. A lucian who is actually doing decent, then you get in a 1v1 right next to him and he just afk farms through the whole thing....and then you realize they are all VERY flawed...not like kinda bad...not like made some mistakes, but like legit 100% awful-in-almost-every-way bad.
A nice fix for this would be a matchmaking system which puts 10 people of equal skill into each game. I know this will never happen though, because Riot just keeps making the balance worse and worse, instead of trying to actually match people by skill. I'm pretty sure it's because their addiction algo outweight the importance of their matchmaking / elo algo. Money isn't made by making an efficient skill-based matchmaking system. Money is made by keeping people addicted and increasing their playtime / time investment and thus giving them more reason to buy stuff. Those who disagree with this are just dumb and/or don't understand how a business is run. The real slow ones don't even understand what a matchmaking algo or addiction algo even is..you'll know when they come rolling into the comments accusing me of thinking that Riot has a room of people rigging (just my) games, and mention conspiracy theory and a tinfoil hat, etc. just because they don't have a basic understanding of programming, or how games work, or pretty much anything beyond simple math (if that). That's the <20 IQ people. See below in an hour or 2 vvv
