Just a discussion here but why do support always have to change champ?

adc prefers a certain support, support changes!

top wants to take teemo top, need tank support demanded to change!

jungler can take tank but if no tank on team it is support fault and should change!

and you people wonder why no one wants to play support, simply because everyone demands they play something else?

If you want a tank then play a tank yourself, if you want a certain support play them yourself it isn't hard stop forcing other people to play champs they don't want or aren't comfortable with and then get in game the person ends up feeding. Then it is noob support, uninstall support, feeder support?

So why is it supports problem?

They don't. Play what you want.

Team comp is not important until the highest tiers or in team play. Admittedly, sometimes, if someone asks me to be a tank I sometimes switch to Leona, but only if it sounds fun to me. She is one of my best champs, after all. If someone asks me for a specific support I don't wanna play, I don't switch. I figure, if they're gonna be rude because of that, they were gonna be rude anyway; you need to carry even harder then. Just pick your best.

Other players that you've never met have no idea what champs you're good with. Sona is one of the highest winrate supports (source )) and I've played a ton of games with her - she's my fourth highest mastery points, and one of my oldest supports. I'm still pretty darn awful with her. My Lulu is much much better and I have less than half the points on her.

hmm why not let them pick and play what they want?

did you not get to choose and play what you want?

Because

  1. support champions generally have lower skill caps than other champions allowing for the support to be able to choose between a wide variety of champions(a good number of supports are low cost)
  2. the support role is literally defined as supporting the team->you do what the team wants to support them best
  3. you don't have to switch.

As a support main I say this: Support CHAMPION are the fucking easiest to play in the game The role is a different story, you have to: -Ward -Peel -Make descisions -And most importantly.... Protect your autistic, bitch ass adc

I used to think like that whenever someone said "need a tanky sup". Then I realized: other people are just asking me for what they want. why am I offended? Instead, if I want the top or the jungle to tank up, I just ASK THEM.

Q: "So why is it supports problem?" A: Because the top lane and the jungle and the mid lane ASK NICELY AND POLITELY. and the support player generally does not. Q: how to change situation? A: support player learns to open mouth and speak up.

I usually just play what I am comfortable with, which is Brand Sona or Leona. All do different things for the lane. I usually ignore if someone requests a specific champion, but the requests happen less frequently in Gold. When I was silver or playing on my silver account people hated when I picked Brand support and they always requested Braum. I just ignored them.

I do request that Blitzcrank be banned. I don't like how that champion changes bot lane dynamics and while I am OK at dodging his grab I don't know if my ADC will be.

I often show Soraka and say "please ban blitz." If the ADC bans blitz I will stay as soraka, but if anyone else bans blitz I just switch to one of my other supports.
