HEY RIOT! WTF IS CONSIDERED TOXIC

Hey Rito, you special kind of company you, long time player here! I've been having such a burning question because i cant seem to play a game without a disrespectful uneducated type of player.

But I have a question riot, I've been banned on multiple accounts, and im wondering, What is the fuck is considered toxic to your "WORLD CLASS" automated banning system? Cant seem to find a game where i have either 1 player or 2 harassing and threatening me with that pesky report button.

For example, last game i played was on ARAM an all I said to my team was for Nasus to build tank(Because he was building ap and he's a fucking tank?) and was disappointed with our team fights. Anywho they didn't take that criticism lightly and i was left with 2 players saying i was toxic and to report me in all chat. Asked them what i did that was so toxic? They wouldn't answer the question. Now, I've been in this situation before and ive been perm banned for being toxic so I truly dont understand this system. I consider the other players behavior to be toxic because I legit am only criticizing them so help their future play(But this is considered toxic)?

Help me Riot, help a long time player. Who is falsely convicted of being toxic.

There is a often a fine line between suggestions and constructive criticism, and just being a jerk. I also find that "toxic" is too strong a term to properly convey what kind of behavior is punishable, as technically any negative behavior can be.

Let's look at how you might approach a Nasus whom you think should build tanky but is going full AP;

  1. "Nasus can you start going defensive? we don't have a tank and need one."
  2. "Nasus stop building AP we're losing because of you, get tanky."

They might have the same message, but 1. is a respectful request while 2. is a rude demand. They are much less likely to be receptive to your suggestions if you're being rude about it, and it's not up to you to choose how they play anyway and if you keep doing things the rude way you're liable to be reported for it. Consider if you were in his position and think your way of playing is the best way (you both probably think your way is best); you don't want someone giving you shit and making demands that you 'know' won't work, and you may play worse with the negative environment the argument is creating.

If you have a specific example (chat logs) we'd be happy to evaluate how you might have approached the situation in a more positive manner conducive to working with your team (and, most importantly for you, not being reported and punished over it).

Saying anything someone else doesn't like is Riots definition of toxic.

This is 100% accurate. Say 1 word and your account you've had for years is gone forever. Its fucking disgusting. They need a fucking rework in that department.

Yes, they need to make it more strict. There's still toxic players in most games.

Welp, considering how most of the time the report system doesn't actually do anything to anyone, I would believe you should already have a decent understanding of what is considered toxic if you've somehow managed to get yourself banned on multiple accounts.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Try not to criticize people, even if it's in a constructive way. I usually just make really indirect suggestions (e.g. "I think we need more wards on baron" vs "Thresh go ward baron") when I want something from my team.

It's just really patronising when someone tells you what to do/build, even if they're right.
