AD Malzahar

With the voidling changes, I was optimistic to see whether AD Malzahar would be rewarding to play again. I really like the stacking feature with his spells and them having regular hp again. The reduced spawn range makes sense as well with the possibility of churning out a lot of voidlings at max CDR. Old AD Malz was best built as a bruiser anyway, making the closer proximity to enemy champions workable. However, their damage and survivability are in a pretty wretched spot to build around them. Even building full ad/magic pen is not enough to do any viable damage with his pets, making the AD ratio on them essentially useless at the moment.

Since AP Malz is in a spot where he can do his job well basically without his W, I wonder if we could get some changes to allow the voidling-centered gameplay to work in a healthy way. Some suggestions to keep the niche playstyle possible yet independent of his main AP roles:

  1. Make voidlings deal physical or hybrid damage again - itemizing into AD and magic pen is impractical at best. At present, the AD ratio only exists to make Hextech Gunblade a possible purchase, but no one buys it. There is currently no way to play him as a damage-dealing minion mancer, having no way to build into it viably.

  2. Situational voidling HP increase - allow their HP to scale with Malz's HP or even AD. Dying with one auto attack seems like an unnecessary feature with their low base health. AP Malz support wouldn't be able to overwhelm the enemy ADC in lane if they scaled with HP or AD, since they have better stats to prioritize. Yorick's ghouls seem to be in a pretty good spot HP-wise; perhaps they could be used for comparison.

  3. Situational movement speed increase - with such low survivability, it would be nice to see some sort of movement speed scaling or boost brought back. They are painfully slow with only Talisman being a means of speeding them up. If you don't want E or R to give them a boost, then the Yorick model could be useful again here. Have them scale based on Malz's movement speed or boot purchase. AP/Support Malz really has no use for move speed items like AD Malz often purchased (Dead Man's, Black Cleaver, etc.), so I don't think this would affect his main roles.

  4. Targeting - Ability to target with auto attacks again. Really only necessary if none of the above suggestions are used.

I really hope you can find a way to allow the two playstyles to coexist again. While fans of pre-rework AP Malz are happy right now with the state of the champ, the more mechanically intensive AD version is not viable without some slight tweaks to his kit.

Sorry but no, malzahar is an ap champ so riot will never buff him ad version. Look KogMaw --> they 'rework' him deleting ap version, then he was so OP than they revert it, next parch ap kogmaw was reaqlly popular on midlane --> e 20%[slayer-jinx-unamused] less ap ratio, 1 patch with ap kogmaw and then deleted of the game.

AP Kog has far more cancerous win conditions than AD Malzahar. Not really the same situation.

what i mean is that riot wont buff another form of a champ look ad kennen, totally destroyed post nerfs

I think that's still an unhealthy build in the game. AD Kennen is also cancerous. AD Malz has pretty clear strengths and weaknesses, and if they were abandoning it completely, they may as well remove the AD ratio on his voidlings. Given that the changes I suggested have no impact on AP Malz, they could easily be thrown in with the inevitable nerfs to AP Malz's power in the next few patches.

any reason malz have ad is for hextech , nothing else, is like kogmaw have ap ratios to guinsoo, but riot doesnt like ap kogmaw
