Master Yi's True Damage

Oh boy, here we go. I use Illaoi to top-tank for my 4 teammates. I got a full build:

Wait what was that? HOW did I die? It says their Master Yi killed me. Let me check how he did that . . . .

65% True damage. I had 3300 hp, maybe a little more . . .

That's about 2150 TRUE DAMAGE, that CAN'T be lowered, only blocked with Fiora's Rispote (who I was NOT playing), Jax's ~~helicopter attack~~ Counter Strike (who I was also NOT playing) or with champs that I don't own, like Kayle.

Am I really the only one who thinks that is absurd? He ALONE killing me and scattering my team happens . . . I guess . . . But OVER 2K TRUE DAMAGE? Rito pls [sg-ahri-1] [sg-ahri-1] [sg-ahri-1]

You were a big blob of Hp vs a melee adc with true dmg. Ofc you would die. You could litterally just buy a thormnail and he would have to more carefully aproach you but you bought a randuins that doesnt matter considering the Yi's nowadays go for the on hit and true dmg with ConQ builds instead of the critbuild from last patch.

Also Yi spends enoough time sucking his own dick in the jungle to get his items and he is meant TO 1V1 people cause he is trash at teamfights.

If you wanna bitch about adisgusting champion that can 1v1 anything talk about Fiora and how she can be 0-7 and still 1v1 you or force you away as long as she has 2 items and lvl 2 ulti.

Anyway, he scales really hard for dueling but in teamfights he blows up if CC'd. That's all it takes.

its a (jungle) assassin. a spezial one. you gotta team-cc him. especially with the conquerer rune yi explodes in teamfights. the true dmg goes up :D

1: that's not a tank build (Cleaver AND trinity? No ult+death's dance?) 2: illaoi isn't a top-tank 3: its master yi you shouldn't expect to win 1v1 against him with most matchups, his weakness is when everybody groups and focuses him or catches him early game while he has no items.

And how would that be worse than him killing you in the same time with less true damage and more other damage? Yi kills targets no matter who them are if he can consitently attack them, that's his thing. Beffy targets with no CC are exactly what YI is great against. Get there a solid ranged DD in you're back while playing someone with solid hard CC and that yi will quickly regeret getting close as he pops to your ally while beeing stack in you're CC.

It's funny how everyone looses their shits because YI does the things the Yi does and always did, because now they see more truedamage ion their deathlock and less physical damage. Yes, he kills tanks a bit quicker that way, but he also has less burst vs squishys with that built and is screwed if ever cought of guard as both guinsoo's and conqueror have a solid delay if he can't pre-stack them befor fighting. He also still has a higher winrate with different runes and critbuilts than he has with conqueror+guinsoo's and his overall winrate dropped compared to befor conqueror+rageblade changes.

Every other source of damage has a counter. Physical -> Armor, magic -> magic resist. And even to resists is a counter in form of penetration. While true damage got no counter you can't even exhaust it because it's true damage. It is just a stupid design that should be removed.

Vayne For years and you dont bitch about her as a community because she takes SKILL OMEGALUL she is YI that has range and has untargetability aswell to half the extent cause yu cant target her only hope to hit some AoE.

Health* Unless its %health true damage which I think is exclusive to vayne and urgot.

True damage is flat damage, so if anything its countered by whatever gives health, where as regular damage from AP or AD will force you to itemize for one or the other (and most true damage comes from AD so you can still go armor + health). The only time true damage can be a nuisance is in interactions like Irelia's W and WW E that are meant to reduce damage taken but is ignored because its true damage... but needless to say even those abilities need some counterplay and would probably be bitched about if true damage didn't exist.

True damage isn't the issue, its what champs we throw it on, see vayne and her complaints about true damage vs. rek'sai, who I never seen somebody complain about.

with conqueror rune maybe?

id say his q is a much bigger problem, can avoid alot of damage with non-ult while being ultra agressive with build and play style

going item 3078 AND item 3071 is already absurd. Decide for one of it and maybe go instead the other a item 3812 , than you can also heal yourself up. Also like some people mentioneded here rightfull: this si not a tankbuild. And item 3143 vs probably onhit yi does't do much. YOu can go item 3075 and item 3110 . With the attackspeedslow you CAN lower the truedamage. Slower attackspeed means less autoattacks during e is up means less % of total damage is truedamage and more is physical or magic damage that you can counter. Farther you even return damage to him. Also it would help a lot to add maybe real boots like item 3047 . item 3742 and item 3748 on ilaoi highly questionable too. There could be a chance that yi still wins the 1v1 but thats just cause he is yi and for being a 1v1 champ while ilaoi is a teamfight champ. Ofcourse if you paly it better and yi is dumb you could maybe win it with thornmail damage, the attackspeedslows, the reduced autodamage from tabbis, steraks plobing and your heals from w and deaths dance
