Ranked Placement Factors?

Hey guys just checking in. Anyone know some rough ranked placement factors? How they decide where your placed? Bit disheartened to have one 6 of mine and get put in B-V... I mean it happens, but i'm curious how its decided? I assumed I'd just go back to 3 where I ended. Thanks guys :)
