Riven - Katarina

So here's the thing: I'm saving IP for a champ, and I wana buy or Riven or Katarina.. Can anyone tell me the differences, playstyles, how r they doing in higher levels, and those stuff, so I know who to buy?

Get Katarina, Riven is unnecessarily hard to play and you can devote your entire life to the champion and still be useless vs an stun, root, or silence.

The two aren't really comparable. Katarina is a mid lane reset assassin, while Riven is a top lane burst fighter. But just basing on difficulty, Riven is much, MUCH harder to execute properly, and even more difficult to execute efficiently. You would have more luck with Katarina

Even though they are both combo based I would consider Riven as one of the hardest champions in the game while katarina is simple to use

This is just my two cents. I like watching what skilled people can do on champions. BoxBox is incredible on Riven and you can learn a lot from him and what Riven is capable of. I don't know of any Katarina mains, but I would suggest going on youtube and watching a montage or a full gameplay video. The One Trick Ponies and Mains youtube channel is a good place to start. Granted, you won't be nearly as good with them when you first start, but it will just show you the playstyle that both champions have. Then go with whatever playstyle you find the most appealing. They both take a lot of practice but on the same token they are very rewarding when used efficiently.
