Teemo blind and gnarr

Can someone please explain to me how teemo's blind has the ability to stop mega gnarr's w(aoe slam). I understand it stopping auto attacks but, it just doesn't make sense, I can still toss a giant boulder and hit whoever I want with perfect accuracy but when I go to do an aoe stun it just stops mid animation if I'm blinded. Are there any other aoe abilities that it negates or was this just a mistake because in his regular form his w would be affected?

I don't think that blind (or anything for that matter) stops Mega Gnar W. However - it does go off without the animation sometimes (Mega Gnar isn't moving but the AoE is affected) - I think usually when you are about to transform automatically but click W in the last moment.
