Does anyone else feel like playing norms is a waste of time now?

I haven't played leagues in almost two months and I come back to find a completely different system in place for match making. My last match had two people who weren't even lvl 30 on my team against a team with 1 silver 5 and two gold 5 against silver 3, 1, gold 2, 1, and a diamond 5. How is this even supposed to be a match when they are this lopsided? I really hope Riot does something about this because truthfully this makes me not even want to play anymore. Which would really be a huge disappointment since i have been playing since 2012. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Playing in general is a waste of time, so...

Not really. Granted matchmaking is a bit nuts before level 30 even when ignoring smurfs, but at 30 you rarely see people of much higher rank.

I can't even learn new champs in normals... I always end up against unranked or bronzes

It doesn't give me an accurate representation of the champion. I really want to learn Thresh, but aside from just throwing away LP, I have no way to do it.

Maybe because you haven't played in two months so it just assumes you're rusty? Proply wrong but idk

EDIT: i acutally found someone else talking about it and not playing for awhile dose effect your mmr

On the contrary, I feel like norms are more important for me. I only do ranked for the plat border, norms are where I get better (the reason I got to plat) because I will get chances to play with diamond through challenger on a daily basis. It's also a huge confidence builder when you do well in those types of games.

I can see how it would be frustrating to play against higher level players, but I enjoy it. Most of them are pretty kept to themselves and I can just watch how they play.
