Irelia is a bad bruiser / possible fix without buffing her too much

Hey guys I'm an platinum 1 Irelia main who players her just top (I did play her mid around 8 times since her release) and I think I have a solution for making her viable top without buffing her in the mid lane too much. I'll try to keep this as short as possible Irelia is one of the worst top laners as of 9.12 with a 46-47% win rate , she loses most matchups against other bruisers and she just got another another 2 nerfs this patch ( e nerf and the corrupting potion nerf - read the patch notes ) and in the last few patches a lot of other top laners got buffed as well so because of this powercreep I expect her to be even worse in the following weeks. So I thought of a possible solution to make her compete again with the strongest top laners from this patch without buffing her too much. Tahm Kench , Urgot and the new Mordekaiser are perhaps the strongest top laners this patch , now what do they have in common you might ask yourselves? (aside from being op this patch) , they havebig boi shields... I think you might get where I'm going with this... so Irelia's passive when stacked used to deal bonus damage against shields but it got removed in the same patch when they removed her w damage reduction. Now I am aware that this is going to affect her to some extent in the mid lane where she is quite strong but I don't think that this is going to affect her near as much in the mid lane as it will help her in the top lane against a couple of bruisers. (Mid lane shields: Yasuo , Orianna , Viktor , Kassadin , Ekko , Diana , Sylas and Azir) (Top Lane Shields: Riven - Would be quite helpful even with her e nerf ; Urgot - A little bit of help is great in a matchup that's heavily in Urgot's favor , he wins most extended trades , his ult is stronger and you can't fight him after lvl 9 ; Jayce - yes he has a shield if he takes aery and walks into the speed buff - shocking info ;more of a meme shield but I think it still counts ; Rumble - He likes to poke Irelia so it whould help her all in's ; Sion - This would give Irelia more opportunities to punish Sion's w ussage , especially into the early game until thornmail , possibly even making her a good counter pick against him
Camille - Camille wins short trades in this matchup and Irelia wins the extended ones , this would make Irelia's extended trades better in this matchup while forcing the Camille player to punish Irelia more for not having her passive fully stacked ; Poppy - Same as Camille but she also can punish Irelia for trying to stack her passive by blocking her dash on last hits then short trading , Shen - Same as Poppy and Camille wins short trades , loses very extended trades ; Malphite - This would help Irelia deal with malphite's passive , espicially late when he has +90% armor bonus on it , the bonus magic damage would be a huge help ; Tahm Kench - Perhaps the biggest help would come in the tahm kench matchup where you need to wait the huge thicc shield out for 3 seconds where he'll just keep slowing and eating you winning both extended and short trades, with the buff you might be able to kill the shield if it's not like 60% of his hp ; New Mordekaiser - Finally the new rework is here and as awesome as it is , he is really op , his passive makes extended trades almost impossible and the hotfix didn't solve much , this buff would force morde to use his shield asap to heal for a bunch of hp which would not affect the matchup that much) Okay that's a lot of info so here's the Tl;dr By giving Irelia her shield breaking passive back she could compete better with the current strongest top lane bruisers Tahm , Urgot and the new Morde (More top lane matchups that would get buffed above as well as the mid ones) , and this would not be a huge buff for mid lane Irelia except for the Diana , Orianna and Sylas matchup.
