A Simple Idea for Ranked
Moved From General Discussion Hey Guys, i know i don't post on the forum often, but i stalk these boards quite a bit... usually dont have much to say because the community here does a great job of covering all the points i'd make before i get off work... but... i have to get some things off my chest, hope a red can read this or something and make use of this, if not, oh well. It helps me to vent a bit.
THE PROBLEM
I started this year off poorly... and while yes, riot i love how much you try to make this game a better place and all that, your ranked policies have left much to be desired in my eyes. Not because the system is broken, it works fine if you get the right teams... however... certain elements are allowed into ranked that make it impossible some times to even try to get out of certain divisions. Im not saying it isnt possible, just extremely more difficult than necessary.
Bronze Division: The ELO Hell. You've all heard it called that... but its called that for a reason... the people who get stuck in bronze are usually those that rage, cause issues and so on for their team, intentionally feed, afk and so on... there are also a few gems here, who are stuck in this division because of this years change of ranked policy. I'm not saying we're perfect, but given the right teams, we win a fairly high % of the time. i have a few buddies in plat and diamond with lower kda's and lower W/L percentages than myself... not saying i play quite at their level, but i could have easily gotten to gold this season... except every time i get to bronze 1, i get matched with every feeder in this division and end up on a losing streak that literally lasts until i finally say screw it and leave league until my mmr blanks. Then i FINALLY get matched with the good people again... proof: this last week, i rose from bronze 4 to bronze 1 in 2 days. i took a break because i lost a couple games, felt like some step away time would help, came back...
i have now lost 7 games straight. Every game i have had to deal with afk's, raging teammates, and feeders. and before you get on me for that last one, when i say feeders i mean the "I didn't get the role i want so im feeding, f u all" type feeders, not the "sorry im doing so bad, i dunno whats wrong with me" types. And all game i have spent trying to get people to work together... trying to keep the team moving.
Now, before you think this is all vent and no constructive post... i have an idea to help out the people just trying to get the heck out of bronze, who actually TRY to work with their teammates.
MY IDEA People report players all the time. its a given. People are reported using the in game system, but then it has to go to a tribunal and then its decided if actions are taken unless its an afk/game leaver thing. but, i say this: to avoid causing stress on innocent players because one person goes on a spree, an idea to keep ranked clean
Since duo is the max you can do in a ranked game, My idea is if a person is reported for a serious offense that affects players gameplay, have an automated system that temporarily BANS these players from ranked queues only until the tribunal can dispute it. Only implement this ban if a player is reported by a minimum of THREE players to prevent duos from going into lobbies with the intention of troll banning all their teams. This way, people who DO cause problems will be removed from the queues and unable to continue harassing innocent players, and those who don't cause problems will have higher chances of scoring a team that will actually try to help them. If a person is innocent, then the tribunal will find them fine and they can return to ranked, with their score intact and the guilty of course get punished as the tribunal is often going to do.
When i say "Serious Offenses" i mean the following: Intentional Feeding AFK/Leaving the Game Verbal Abuse Harassment Assisting the Enemy Team
IN CONCLUSION I know other ideas have been brought forth similar to mine, but i figure a well organised post may do much better in catching your attention... my hope is this in some way gives you an idea that can help us move forward without fearing what the next team we get matched with might do to our scores. I hope to get some decent responses.
