Can someone explain how im S3 playing with 2 other silver friends going against all plats and gold 1s/2s? our MMR is literally 1300 is there no other silver trios they could match us against?

When you queue with more people your team's MMR gets artificially inflated, it's likely the other teams MMR was low for their rank as well, so you were probably all playing in Gold MMR levels.

If you queue with people your mmr scales up quite a bit. They were most likely very low mmr Plat/Golds (Doubt you were against a plat)

Some plats have Gold 5- Gold 4 mmr, so it's very possble for silvers with good winrate to be matched with plats with bad winrate.

Whenever you play with one or more person your MMR will be changed to compensate for the fact that you have people with you. This usually works by putting you up against players with higher MMR and often giving you team mates with equal or lower MMR. Although with DQ I guess the first thing the system prioritizes is matching you against a similar amount of people in a DQ group with equal MMR, before making compensations for your DQ group make-up.

less and less players are queueing in ranked theses days so the matchmaking gone super wild and its meaningless and useless to play ranked in the current state of the game do yourself a favor and don't queue for ranked.
