Cait or jinx better for solo queue.

Jinx

You can go ham with Cait but not the way Jinx can. Jinx can turn 3-10 into a surrender vote from the enemy team if she's ahead. Fed Jinx is scarier than fed Cait in my opinion.

Jinx currently has the highest win rate for ADCs in solo-q; take that however you will. I still maintain that the best champion you can play is whatever champion you're best at, whether that be Kennen ADC or what have you.

Jinx is a hyper carry and can rek games almost single handedly. so Jinx.

In some variations, the "jinxee" can only be freed from jinx upon purchasing the "jinxer" a coke (this rule is honored when the "jinxer" enforces this stipulation).

Jinx getting gutted by Rito, so go Caitlyn.

Not gutted. Her midgame, specifically levels 9 - 15 is getting a nerf with attack speed via minigun (and a buff for her rockets). Level 17 and 18 is actually a net increase in attack speed both for rockets and minigun.

Biggest difference will be that she doesn't take towers as fast with minigun and she doesn't destroy tanks as hard midgame with minigun kiting. She'll still be very strong and she'll do even more damage for people who like to use her rockets a lot.

I just checked the PBE site and I don't quite understand the whole "scaling" part.

So basically she's getting a bit more base AS as long as she's on minigun? She can max Q first, but it only gives a shit ton of AS as she levels up? Am I getting that right? o.O

No the opposite. I'll break it down into laymans terms for you.

  1. They're decreasing the bonus attack speed Jinx gets from Minigun. At rank 5 Q she will only get 70% bonus attack speed instead of 130% like she got before.

  2. They're counteracting the above nerf by increasing her base attack speed scaling. At level 9 (the same time she has rank 5 Q) she will have 25% more attack speed due to her bases scaling better. Her rockets will attack 25% faster, but her minigun will attack only at 95% instead of 130%.

At level 16 she will have +60% base attack speed over the Jinx that we have in live. This is a huge buff for her rocket form, but her minigun attack speed only breaks even at this point meaning that for the vast majority of the game Jinx will be attacking a lot slower in minigun than she is for Live values.

Ooooooh, thank you.

So she gets a little more poke, at the cost of slow tower taking early-mid game, while retaining her "tower-busting" hypercarry late-game identity?

Seems like they're shifting her power just a bit, rather than outright nerfing it.

Yep seems like a power shift to me. I think she was a bit too "jack of all trades."

Directly it gives her more safe damage in the midgame, but it takes away from her max damage output and removes a bit of tower pushing strength until level 16+. I think it's a good change.

On paper, it seems fair enough.

We'll have to wait and see, though, but I'm grateful you translated the changes into layman terms for me!
