Exhaust nerfs are very welcome. The armor/mr reduction removal makes sense, but as for as debuff...

Why did you remove Exhaust attackspeed debuff and not the %dmg dealt debuff? Attackspeed reduction made a whole lot more sense and was more fair and balanced, how does exhausting somone make their magic burst you less efficiently? Wouldn't it make more sense that they're too tired to swing their sword around as quickly? Also isn't Barrier for dealing with burst? Exhaust should be for slowing people and peeling for your carry, no?

There's a reason exhaust midlane is so opressive. When you're playing a burst mage and the enemy support just barely gets exhaust off on you as your ult hits and it does half damage, that just sucks. When you're playing an adc or a toplane bruiser and you get exhausted, you can at least back off until it's over and then reengage after its duration without worrying about long cooldowns being blown. You don't automatically lose the whole fight because of a summonerspell you can't react to or counterplay against.

Not to mention, exhaust is so strong right now, it's not rare to see mid and/or toplaners take it as well. Now it will make far more sense to use it midlane against a burstmage or toplane against a bursty adcaster than it will be for the support to take it for extra peel and 2v2 dueling potential.

It makes no sense gameplaywise or thematically... When dealing with burst, shields should be weapon of choice, not be some summoner spell that's always primarely been used to deal with autoattackers.

No.

If only the attackspeed debuff exists and not total damage reduction, it would enforce botlane and even the entire map to not pick autoattackers. Because you see, why pick autoattackers when casters are "immune" to that debuff? It would only turn the botlane meta even more stale than it already is.

In botlane, exhaust plays are often relied on how well they are timed because you really should use them right before someone dies, which requires a lot of interaction. However, in a solo lane, it's more on "free ticket to easy trades", which isn't interactive at all. A better way to solve that issue and make it feel more interactive would be decrease the debuff duration.

Just something to consider.

Exhaust needs to be a damage reduction instead of an AS reduction because then it's generically useful instead of only being good against autoattackers.

Exhaust is fine, even with exhaust an assassin can still gib you, if anything, it isn't strong enough.

Why do mages/assassins deserve to be immune to exhaust when they're 2/3 of the reason you want the spell in the first place?

Exhaust is strong which is why they're removing excess power from it. They're not trying to make it useless...lol

The problem with making it apply to attack speed instead of damage done is that it pushes the bot lane meta even harder toward ability-based laners. AA-based laners are already having a rough time with the prevalence of poke-based lethality and AP builds; making a summoner spell that specifically punished their mode of combat would basically ensure that we never saw AA-based champions in bot lane again.

Gameplaywise it makes a lot of sense. It used to affect autoattackers more than assassins, despite assassins being the intended tagets. Now it affects everyone evenly, as it should. Thematically, nothing in League makes any sense. How the hell can teemo be invisible when he's standing out in an open area? Why is Malphite not part of the map? Why does kat deal magic damage if zed deals physical damage?

That makes no sense exhaust is meant to counter overall damage and not just those that rely on attack speed. All the attack speed debuff did is made those who relied on it be double hit from both the damage nerf and the attack speed nerf. Now everyone is on equal footing when they get exhausted.
