Why does Kayle exist? (Literally. What is her theme?)

What is Kayle supposed to be? Mechanically and Thematically?

She feels like the most inconsistent character in the game. She seems directionless and counterproductive. She's a flaming angel in golden armor, cool. But then her abilities are support-ish and all over the place. She seems like she is only okay by abusing items in a gimmicky way that almost any champion would do okay with and only really shines with her (After a painful early game) because of her ultimate and the E.

Where is she going with this, and why? Does anyone actually like her abilities as-is? Even her animations seem really janky and out of place like she isn't meant to be played as she is.

Personally, just my opinion and I want to look into the general mindset, I think she could do with a hefty rework with whole new abilities. She seems like she should have something like a Pantheon-Galio ult, but with a healing-barrier burst on impact for a team.

kayle is one of the stranger champs for me

if you feed, you feed hard, if you snowball, you snowball hard

she's very toxic imo and she will be reworked in a few years after riot gets to all the champs before her

I love the champion. Her kit is based around her getting more time to auto attack you. On-hit builds are some of the most unique, but interesting builds to go on. And she is one of the best to utilize them. Rageblade, BotRK, Nashor's tooth, Wit's End, Grieves, Runaans is a great build on her. And not many champions can do that effectively

Riot has said that she and Morgana (Since they are siblings) will get a joint VGU. When that will be, none can say.

Kayle is supposed to be an "Angelic/Holy Warrior" sort of character, if I'm not mistaken. Morgana is supposed to exist as a juxtaposition to her or as a "Fallen Angel" type character. That's what I always thought them to be.

Her kit is an ancient relic of League's past and I'm surprised it hasn't changed yet.

Kayle exists because she was made. Literally that's it. She hasn't aged well AT ALL and she's just as bad as a champion kit as I am at playing Kayn.

I had a game where I disconnected for 17 minutes playing kayle while only having a stinger. When it finally started working again my team had almost lost the inhibitor towers so I farmed up like 200 cs and after i got nashor and guinsoos I could not lose to anyone on the enemy team and we actually still won

Her theme is to be an annoyance or cancer.

Falls behind? Still functioning as a resistance shred, support with a dumb op ulti.

Gets a head? Aoes your team down with little you can do.

Thematically, Kayle is an angel obsessed with law and order. In the lore, she desires perfect order as well as strict, simple justice. She's judge, jury, and executioner."An eye for an eye" as she says.

Through Morgana's lore, it is revealed that while Kayle's ideal world is one of perfect order, it is also one without much in the way of freedom.

The characters symbolize two conflicting extremes, one fighting for law and order, the other fighting for individuality and freedom.
