How Bad Is Dynamic Que?

Boy Patrol··1 votes·1,244 views

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what rank is everyone?...and how has Dynamic Que has personally effected you?

I've seen a lot about it and I understand for a high elo player that dynamic que system is horrible, but I feel as if most players are just jumping on the band wagon of blaming riot for a broken system.

In my experience as a bronze/silver player DQ is actually kind of awesome. The new champ select has greatly improved the quality of games with less trolls and toxics. Every gets the champ and role they want and don't have to worry about what # pick they are, and not worrying about playing an off role. Que times for a bronze of any role are usually no longer than 5 mins. Also, I haven't come across many premades in ranked, and if I do they still usually lose(this may be just a bronze thing).

In reality the system only hurts 1% of Leagues playerbase, yet it seems everyone unanimously hate DQ. Its not like riot isn't trying to improve it.

Anyways, I just wanted to get a clearer image of who it affects, and how much Any legitimate replies and opinions are much appreciated. Thx [slayer-jinx-catface]

Edit: It may be relevant that I only solo or duo in ranked

Be careful when mentioning the new champ select with DQ as the topic, they're different things that got rolled out at the same time, so saying that DQ is awesome while then complimenting the champ select is actually stating nothing about DQ. Just a heads up because most people have been getting them confused it seems.

Well the issue with que times at higher elo is actually the new champ select since no one wants to que as support. I figured since every one include the champ select in their complaints about DQ it would work vice versa.

I understand the differences, but at this point I think they go hand and hand. Especially with the pros playing on private servers due to challenger match quality.

You will know when you get stomped. lol

Every one gets stomped from time to time. Its happens, you learn and move on.

Just ask CLG about their summer debut.

DQ is a pretty much a disaster at all levels. It's just a lot more exaggerated at the highest Elos, which would be expected since they can only fudge MM moving downwards, rather than in both directions.

It's not a question of whether you win or lose, but how you win or lose those games. Playing with premades does not promote teamwork outside of those premade groups, and often times makes it impossible as a solo player to work with your team.

Second, DQ undermines the ladder/ranking system. So even though you are awarded MMR --> League standing, it does not actually hold any real meaning, since its an amalgam of every possible ranked scenario all mushed into one.

The main problem isn't even that it leads to unfair matches - all queues have always had those for various reasons because the matchmaker isn't perfect and things like toxicity/trolls can disrupt games too - but that the games are frustrating. You are one solo guy, doing well in your lane, when suddenly the entire enemy team, all premade on voice comms, rush to gank your lane, towerdive you, etc. - while your team, random solo players, ignore your pings and don't react.

Then, it turns it around by the fact that the large groups are usually bad at the game - once you survive their crazy team shenanigans in the early game, they tend to play poorly and lose in the mid-late game.

So, first it's unfair for the solo players, then it's unfair for the premade players.

That just doesn't seem like a healthy situation.

it devalues ranked by making the ranking extremely ambiguous due to including every queue configuration on the same ladder

This is why, in the highly unlikely event that Riot manages to band aid the massive number of issues surrounding DQ, it still won't be a valid ladder.

And realistically, most of those problems will never really be "solved"
