Tips on how to fight Illaoi and Darius

I am currently in bronze 4 and I started playing around January. As I've been playing I have realized that there are some certain champions that I can't even touch. Today I was Master Yi and I went to gank Illaoi who was 3 kills in with black clever. I went to kill her and then she used her ultimate which instantly killed me. I know I'm a noob but I just want some help with how to fight Illaoi. Another champion that I have a lot of trouble with is Darius. When I play Fiora top lane he destroys me and I can't do anything about it. I can't fight him because he'll get his bleed stacks in and get bonus ad. What do you do, fight Darius or tower farm and behind on cs. If you could drop some tips below on how to fight these two It'd be amazing. Thanks a lot :D

Once Ill ults, run away from her. She creates a "zone" where you dont want to be inside of. You want to try and dodge the tentacle smashes and you'll be fine. Darius you must rely on small skirmishes. If you're having trouble in Bronze 4 I suggest finding a friend that can help you carry alongside improving your map awareness.

(I actually bought one of those shock watches and when I would look away from my map and die from a gank I shocked myself. I went from Silver to Platinum because of this.)

Playing Fiora, usually you should just Q straight into or away him if you are equal amount of hp, then back off if you are level 1. Try to parry his Q if he pulls and decides to Q. At level 6, You could also parry his R, which will make him waste it, and possibly, after the max bleed wears off you should R him and basically beat the crap out of him. If you farm under tower, that allows Darius to farm up for a BC and basically kill you under tower if he's really good. The thing that is vital to beating Darius is dodging his Q, so keep that in mind. I'd also get Ninja Tabi for boots after first item ( get fervor on fiora and buy item 3748 first if you want sustain and damage, item 3748 active is kinda busted with its AA reset and huge damage on AA ).

As for Illaoi, I don't play her so I have no Idea. But I think I got you covered for Darius.

vs illaoi

stand near minions and don't fight her unless she misses E after level 5. before then trade with her aggressively, her level 1 and 2 are horrible

recognize a bad tentacle spawn for her and don't kill it. i.e if it's too far away from a potential 3-spawn nest, and killing it will give her that nest, leave it alone

run away from her when she ults

Illaoi is a zone MASTER! Dont ever try to fight her while her ult is up, run away from her zone, and keep clear of premade tentacle zones. Be ready to dodge skillshots if youre trying to run. Also, her tentacle slams HEAL her, so you HAVE to burst her down.

Darius relies on all ins, he completely just says lol to armor and stuff and will kill you easy in all ins. Poke him down, rely on short fights, etc etc.

For Illaoi, the biggest thing is running from her ult. Treat it as the same danger as a Katarina ult, but one you can't stop. If she presses R, forget fighting, forget CC, just run. And don't be afraid to run out of her Test of Spirit - the damage it echoes is almost always worse than anything you could take from the tentacles. And those are able to be avoided, as long as you keep moving. As a counter…I have no idea, yet. Just not Teemo. Nasus, maybe, if you can dodge her slam thingy, and avoid trades until upwards of 200 stacks.

Against Darius, treat him like a melee Teemo, with Garen's ult. If you get low health - RUN. Don't fight with him unless you're going to win, avoid his Apprehend's range, and either totally avoid his Q's range, or just take the handle, instead - his Q's blade applies 2 stacks of his passive and heals him. As a counter, Teemo and Ahri are your best bets. Teemo just craps on him if you know what you're doing (hint: maxing W Q E will let you avoid all damage that isn't part of his apprehend or ult!), and Ahri dances around him like a Garen on the dance floor. Against Darius, it's stupid-easy to poke him and land your Charm. Your Q lets you dance nimbly out of his Q (just stay out of Apprehend!), but you can't let him get ahead, as he'll win in late-game. (Void staff is obviously a must!)

An L7 Champ Mastery Darius talking here.

How to fight against a Darius? First, get him to waste his summoner 4 if you can. Darius has No escapes outside of it. Next, try to deny the HEALING of his Q as much as possible, and if the champ you are playing have any poking/kiting types of skills, use them. Get him to waste his E, it has a long CD and is his main source of CC.

Remember, Darius gets stronger the longer the fights last, so try to keep your trades with him short and sweet so as not to allow him to get his passive stacks on you. Coming from experience, I know that's easier said than done, but just do your best.

Also, I know this isn't always possible because of the way Champ Select works, but if you haven't yet picked and are facing a Darius you might want to change your intended pick. Some potential counter-pick choices I have (Based on PERSONAL preference of dislike, other Darius mains may list others) are as follows:

1st Yorick (I also play Yorick myself, and have beaten EVERY Darius I come across as him) 2nd Sion (His passive lets you kill your enemy Darius provided you can stick to him) 3rd Gangplank (Proper barrel-placement and detonation can really ruin a Darius's day because you don't even need to be close to him) 4th Jayce (Kite, Kite, Kite all day long! He gets too close, bat him away with your Hammer E.) 5th Renekton (Use Renek's ult just as Darius uses his and the health boost SHOULD help you to live and force HIS on CD.)

Also, try to get help from your JG if possible. When and if he overextends, punish him for it with the help of your JG. Like I said, he has no real escapes outside of summoner 4 .
