State of the Game
As much as I love Riot, there are certain issues in their design and champion balance team that, at least from what I have seen, does not get brought up often enough.
TL:DR of this at the bottom:
I have been playing since the end of Season 3. I have been an ADC main for most of my career which is where most of these gripes are coming from. Now as I look back on my three years of playing the game, i cannot stay quiet anymore. My biggest issue with the game is when Riot messes up a champion rework, and the community is in a majority against the rework, Riot does not fix the issues the community has with said champion. My biggest example of this is the very first class rework, marksman. Already at this point in the game's life, marksman were not in the best spot. Majority of marksman were ADCs and yes some of them had a few weird abilities that did not really seem like they should be on an ADC. So Riot tried to fix this. So instead of fixing ADCs they moved one/two into the jungle (Quinn, Graves) one into the top lane (Quinn) and one into the mid lane (Corki). Some saw this as a fix but as time went on only one of those changes has still stuck in the current meta. And if you disagree with me, ask yourself, when is the last time you saw corki mid or Quinn top in a platinum or higher game (since most of riot's balancing is for this level). The final marksman to get changed was kog'maw and Riot actually did something right here. They realized that they screwed up with his rework and they rereworked kog back to his old self. Yes he is not that strong and yes his passive still should not be on an ADC but at least Riot took the first couple of steps.
Now as Season 7 starts up, I hope Riot takes a step back from creating new champs and working on brand new class reworks and min reworks to take a look back at some of the changes they have made before. I hope they think to themselves has the community of gamers that love our game, do they enjoy these changes or do we need to do something to fix these issues.
