Just played a 50 min game

and honestly it felt a lot better than my 10 win streak a while ago. Both teams were consistently making comebacks instead of just one team creating a huge lead then snowball all the way to the end with the crazy damage.

This was the most fun game I've ever had all season long, despite all the flames and toxicity etc. Sometimes the nostalgia would kick in and I would create custom games with friends to intentionally play a 45 min+ game, because that was the closest we could get to an old/original League game. Every custom game I play I wonder if I can ever get to experience a real 45 min+ game again, and for that to have come true just now I am at a loss for words to describe how joyful I am at the moment. It made me remember how much fun I had in League and how much I used to enjoy the game. I still do, but nowhere near as much.

Back then there was ap master yi getting pentakills in three seconds and.. ok well you know the rest... list is too long. Right now what variety is there? There are only a few champs that fit in the meta and if I pick anything else I almost always get flamed (sure I could mute but I don't play this game just to mute teammates) plus I almost always get outmatched by the meta champs. It really just forces me to play the meta champs if I want to have the slightest amount of fun.

I do love League of Legends, and that's why I'm still playing despite the current states of the game. All of my friends have quit. Although I doubt I will do the same any time soon, I also doubt if I can ever enjoy the game the same way as I did in the past. I still buy skins now and then even though I'm not into them at all, and the sole reason being that I want to support Riot as much as I can. I may be a low elo scrub who never managed to reach any higher than plat 5 in EIGHT years with any account, but Riot I am among the most loyal players in the game. We will remain and support Riot and the game for as long as we can, even when there are only us that's left in the game. But Riot, are you willing to do the same for us?

I really miss the old League of Legends that almost everybody loves.

I don't see why people keep complaining about game length. Your ranked average time for the past 20 games has been 32 minutes.

Removing the longest and shortest match from that data drops it to a 31.75 minute average.

Removing the next longest and shortest brings you to a 31.79 minute average.

You've had 11 games longer than 30 minutes, and only 4 games shorter than 25 minutes, with only 1 ending before 20 minutes.

"Meta breaking"/"What variety"

Quite the contrary to the "no variety" statement you made in your post, in your past 20 ranked solo games you've seen 85 unique champions out of a total of 142 champions. The meta breaking has only changed forms, now we only ever hear about it when it's overbearing like AP Trynd.

I have "meta broken" for the past 2 years basically, playing as jungle Taric, jungle (old) Aatrox, jungle Tahm, and I'm currently learning jungle (new) Aatrox. Very rarely do I get people who flame in champ select, it's only if I have a bad game that they get upset.

Tl;dr - I think you're blowing things out of proportion and pining for the olden days for no real reason

Edit: And food for thought, the last time the game had only 85 champions was in October 2011, so your past 20 games over a period of 7 days has had as much diversity of league of legends had in the whole game in 2011.

Clown Fiestas are fun as long as they remain the exception, otherwise they are exhausting and draining experiences that make you want to quit for a week.

I enjoy 30+ min matches as much as the net guy but there's a significant difference between a 30 min match of players strategically outwitting the other team and a 30 min match of back-to-back throwing.

Like, I've had stressful 40 min matches just because my team was all over the place, making a call to baron, making a call to elder drake, making a plan to push to win and sometimes these players would just go solo on their call causing the whole match to collapse. Then the enemy has breather and a window for a comeback and again we get lucky in a teamfight and we're pondering what's next for us to do with this ace? Push to win or Baron? And funny enough the team splits up for one call or the other and the same shit goes on for 20 minutes.

Then there's the good 30+ min matches where players are going tit-for-tat on objective, tower for tower, dragon for tower, baron for inhibitor. Those are the matches I enjoy since both teams logistically are even and not a back and forth shift from one extreme to the other.

You see, i remember back when 50min games were common there were typically complaints of When it comes to late game, no matter how many turrets you have, if 4 of you die, the currently farthest lane pushed (Minion-wise) Is gonna get run all the way to the nexus. Which cause games past 35-45min (depending on rank) A tiptoe and wait for baron fest.

I came into league a bit late the date was 16th of august. I've been looking at league since 2010 through youtube videos, at my local esports events where I took part in Tekken, Street fighter, Smash bros, SNK fighters, Virutal fighter and Marvel vs capcom.

I used to ask some league players at the time about how the game works. I was a bit puzzled but as time went on I watched youtube videos, I got into the game and I listened to old league youtubers like ross boom socks and kiandymundi who would discuss about the old days of league like how Dodge chance existed (which I would've raged at if i played this game back in those days). Twitch could go proper stealth for nearly 1 minute, you could fortify towers, AP tryndamere (tho as a latecomer i actually do like playing ap trynd just to be a bellend.)

I kind of wish I was around playing league during those old days but if I did I may have quit league at some point.

Season 5 imo was my favourite went Devourer was unlimited and I would just go Twitch it was the first time I've ever got a pentakill which is scummy ik i should be ashamed of myself to doing this #DownVoteMeBruhIDareYou

I remember in a silver 3 ranked game I was playing jungle and both teams were playing so insanely great, people were making plays trying to dodge as much shit as possible then rek the other guy we mostly kept on seeing triple and quadra kills, the enemy jungler straight up penta'd our asses but the funny thing was nobody in this ranked game even past the 20 minute mark wasn't really taking this game too seriously. all 10 of us were chatting.

In the end the match lasted for nearly 90 minutes and that is just batshit insane. I still remember the match quite well and it's one of my favourite matches of all time. I was ok if I lost that match but we won by pure freaking luck because so many times mine and enemy team's nexus was just like 300 hp from a defeat/victory.

As the years have gone on, I'm still a fan of league of legends.... but there are so many things that riot has done that has made me love the game less I wont list all but the no.1 thing I hate that riot tends to struggle with is allowing more game modes to be playable in the season also I'm still salty at riot for removing Crystal Scar from the main gameplay mode. I love aram and sometimes I like some gothic twisted treeline. But CS/Dominion/Ascension feels like an arena team death match to me which is my personal favourite mode when it comes to big multiplayer games. I can do the objectives but most of the time I just love hunting around alone or with a team mate just killing the opposing players or at least supporting them.

I get it that Summoner's Rift is League of Legends but... having more map variety to break up the monotony is great and I hope riot will make game modes like star guardian, umm that project adc map i forgot it's name sorry, and again i have to mention Dominion/Ascension.

i just played a 60 minute game, it was the worst time i've had in a while. sure i got fed, but at 50 minutes zed and blue kayn got full build too and 2.5k hp, 400+hp shield, lux shield and heal aren't enough to not get oneshot.

Games for me have been reaching 45+ mins usually in ranked, so yeah.

Warlord Rhinark8/10/2018, 8:11:39 AM1 votes

Yeah but you're playing on OCE so someone on your team probably knew someone on the other team and they set up one of the hostage games I've been hearing so much about.
