How do you actually climb?!

I genuinely cant figure it out, i don't know if its because of the champions/roles who i main or something else. I try to take advantage of enemy mistakes as much as possible but i still can't seem to climb. I'd like to just say its my teammates but i suppose that's a defeatist attitude. I'm Silver 4, i main Lux, i only ever play her mid and have a 4.78 KDA in ranked with her, yet i only have a 50% win rate. The other role i'd normally like to play is support and i have a 3.4 KDA with Leona but an even lower win rate at 42%.

Personally i feel i'm better just waiting for Season 7 and trying my luck in qualifiers but i really wanted to make a push for Gold yet can't figure out how...

Play normals till your improvement stagnates, play ranked till your progress slows, play normals to improve again, and with enough repetition you should reach gold.

You may be lacking somewhere idk, but despite what people try to claim in higher elo's it really is the team the majority of the time that's holding you down.

and i'm not talking about someone missing a Q or two i'm not talking about the support that died trying to ward for his adc. I'm not talking about someone formulating a big play in their head that can change the game but end of doing bad at executing the play, no.

I'm talking about top laners that will push the enemy to their tower. Refuse to ward. Cry when they get ganked and RQ (riven mains) or get dominated in lane and swear it's the enemy champ that's broken when all you needed (let's use vlad as the enemy for ex.) was cowl to stop their damage but no, they go for raw damage and cry

I'm talking about mid laners that curbstomp their lane and get so arrogant into thinking they can 1 shot the entire team alone (you kat mains) then end up getting smacked down and start flaming as the enemy team makes a comeback, the mid laners that refuse to roam to other lanes that need help but will constantly bash them

I'm talking about the junglers that will never EVER play for objectives and will ONLY focus on ONE lane and refuse to help any others. The kind that think running top lane to help the allied garen under his tower with a gank when he's perfectly fine instead of taking dragon that isn't warded

I'm talking about the supports that don't know what a ward is, want to only build damage and get kills want not to SUPPORT their team but support themselves the supports that get pissy at everyone for not listening to them when their judgement may very well be a bad one

I'm talking about the adc's that just think they are the center of attention (which rito really wants tbh) the ones that will tower dive in a 1v2 while the support is at base buying items to keep them safe and flame them hardcore. The ones that will swear if you took a kill you are the trolliest troll that done ever trolled

Tl;dr: Teammates are ass you just need to keep trying till you climb to your desired location. It's basically luck or find your own team

Get lucky and hope you get more premades on your side than the enemy.

You can try and carry as hard as you can but if your team is a bunch of dipshits with the weight of a planetary core then you keep dropping until you get lucky.

Lux can't really carry a game, she could but it's really hard since she has higher cooldowns than other mages and can't really spam stuff and do a bunch of AOE damage. With any midlaner, I try to roam bot and then get a kill on the enemy adc and if there's time, help them push and attack turret to get the first tower gold so the support and adc can now roam to mid or top and help them out.

i took a look at ur op.gg and found something interesting: item 3135 every single Lux game, even when enemy team barely has magic resistance. Try itemizing specifically against the enemy team you are facing, instead of just blindly building whatever's on the recommended list.

hope this is what u rly needed to hear to climb

im a former lux main myself

edit: I think itemization issue is also what prevents u from performing well with Leona too; try prioritizing magic resistance if enemy's AP carry is fed. Armor if enemy ADC(or AD assassin) is fed.

Lux isn't a carry mid. Typically after I net a few kills and or have a large cs lead, I'll roam to the lanes that can carry.

get good at one lane/role + support

spam those lanes

easy climb

I've never often carried super hard as a Lux, honestly. If you can get a pick on their carry(ies) then yeah, ezlyf.

Play Vayne and Q - Auto 1shot squishies mid game onwards, for tanky dudes you have to auto 3 times

you are in the elo u deserve to be in simple..i have been playing since s2 i started in bronze climb to gold 3 spent atleast a year in each tier it amde me realize how bad i was and still am each tier has its flaws.silver players dont know how to end games

Kills don't really matter. KDA doesn't either in ranked. If you get greedy and focus on getting a good kda instead of pushing your lead and getting objectives, that's your fault my friend.

Mr Broken Wings10/4/2016, 8:14:47 PM1 votes

you need to get better at the game, if you have problems climbing then its because you are not good enough, carrying out of silver shouldnt be a problem if you are playing better. ( and no, good kdas dont mean you have to win games, its applying pressure and doing the right decisions through a game that wins you games, and that seems to be lackluster if you have constant 5.0 kdas and STILL lose)
