Smurf Verifier.
Tired of that kid saying "I know this account is bronze, but it's a smurf account. My main account is diamond!"
Rito, introduce optional system for smurf verification. I want proof.

If they r bronze on a smurf they r probably bronze on their main and just made a smurf cuz"elo hell" then went bronze again cuz "elo hell" is just a mindset.
It is both a mindset and a place, all elo hell games are 1 sided from the get-go and somehow always manages to land you on the losing side. The fact that you can't win games despite trying your hardest resigns you to think you'll never have a decent game again in ranked.
not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is why its a mindset, good games and bad games happen, losing streaks and winning streaks happen.
Elo hell is a place but only if you choose to make it a place in your head.
There is some truth to it. For example, I was gold last season. Well, with rito's silly provisionals, I got demoted down to silver 3 while going 5-5. The struggle is real here. Top laner usually has 4 deaths in 5 mins...not much you can do sitting at 1-0 when the score is 4/15. Elo hell gets a really shit reputation because of all the really bad players that blame teammates for loses, when they played the worse on the team. 2 different categories lol.
elo hell is when you start blaming others for every loss, X made a mistake(elo hell) etc.
Yea some games your top laner feeds sometimes the enemy top laner feeds.
The only consistent variable in your games is YOU.
Yes, the only consistent is you. Which means there are 9 variables. 9 variables effect the game more than 1.
yes but over a number of games the constant will end up where they belong.
If your play is that of bronze you will likely stay bronze/silver/gold/etc wherever you're stuck, until your realize you are the master of the hell you have created.
I have found it is a complete random chance of who gets better teammates. I pretty much do well in lane....it's out of the control that the score is 3/15 by 8 mins. Sure if you are a diamond player you are going to climb through bronze. I was gold last season and can't climb for shit this season...the amount of trolls is real.
do you really feel there is nothing you can do better?
Tha'ts where it begins yea it can be stupid hard to pull games back but if you give up and say "I did the best I could" then just resort to blaming then you ill be in elo hell.
I've been in your position before and will likely be there again, Plat felt impossible for me to get and you know what I didn't get it. Was it because of my team? no. That's just part of what makes solo queue well solo queue.
It just takes a ton of work if you don't have the game knowledge/skill to make it to the next level.
Lol, I'm not saying there isn't anything that I can do better, because obviously there is. But "doing better" =/= carrying the 3/14 team. If you can do that, the other team is just dumb. This is a team game, expecting 1 person to "carry" is honestly just flawed logic.
yes, but over the course of many games if you feel you don't belong in your elo you will be able to carry more of them then not.
No you don't do it alone, you do well enough help your team win their lanes(gank, setup wards, give advice.) and then they wont be such a burden, nothing flawed about a person carrying.
Its not like I'm saying you have to go 20-0 every game while your team goes 0-20, work with what you have.
Now if you are really sitting here and telling me every game you have has a guy running down mid lane feeding the enemy team then you are playing a different game then me.
So if you are silver 1, but think you belong in gold, you should be able to carry games? Sorry, not buying it. Again, 9 players have a much greater impact than 1 player.
yes but its not the same 9 players, its the same 1.
Anyway this is a pointless discussion if you feel your team is to blame just continue blaming them but I'll say it wont help you in anyway.
Only you have the power to escape the hell you have created but anyway, you do you boo boo:D
Check your logic. man. again go to the coin flip experiment. its so simple and simply proves your theory wrong
its not a coin flip once again....
Check your logic. man. again go to the coin flip experiment. its so simple and simply proves your theory wrong.
Also consider 10 players, 1 definitely better than the other 9, one definitely worse that the other nine.
Now run any game 5v5 simulation you want, run as many games as you want. At the end please tell me the rank of all 10 players based on win and loss record. I have the real answer written down here at my desk.
q: How often do you think your simulation will match the known rank? what percentage will be right?
q: do you think adding more players makes it easier and more accurate to get the actual rank correct in the system?
food for thought!
Of course it isnt. A coin flip is clear and simple, and proves your theory wrong . There is no where else to go if you dont accept that.
Once again not a coin flip.
Also dealing with people, not just numbers.
and only one of the people never changes.
You are also using flawed logic.
agree to disagree.
All about perspective I guess, you say I'm wrong I say you're wrong either way this is going nowhere fast I agree with you there.
such flawed logic. The odds of head s and tails is 50%.
now flip a coin 10 times for set, and tell me how many "sets" are 50/50.
This"over time" theory that it evens out is definitely not true. and the coin flip only has 2 variables.
Its flawed logic if you take it like that.
Its not a coin flip, there are 10 players 1 is always the same.
when did I say you are gonna go 50/50 no matter what?
You didn't. Im just proving the theory that more games, longer time playing, will move you to your true elo. That is false and that is all Im saying and demonstrating. I equated a 50/50 odds of a coin flip with "true elo" and rank recognition; and then running the experiment to see how often the system gets to that true elo. the answer is, not often.
within a certain % is it.
if you use your coin flip theory you will likely be within a % of 50/50 it wont be drastic like 20% heads 80% tails for instance.(it can be but the likelihood is very very small)
You also have control over a game rather then in a coin flip where you have none, is always it easy? no. Do you have some control? yes.
the problem with your logic is you oversimplify with a coin flip and forget that you have control over a part of the experiment.
you have control over a small portion of the game input, you. Howver, thats one tenth.
the pnt is. the system will get it wrong most of the time, it does get it right some of the time. But that is the rare part. getting it wrong is the norm, if the system is trying to get to measure your true elo, just like the system trying to get the coin flip to 50/50.
that is the point,
yes the system gets it wrong but only by small measures, so having a 10% swing over the games is a pretty huge thing.
Its very dissimilar to a coin flip, your point is invalid.
There are also anomalies which the system cant/doesn't account for(people running down mid lane feeding 20 kills, leavers)
considering that smurfing is something that i hope riot would rather discourage, I doubt they would implement something like this ever. But it would be nice to know if a "smurf" was telling the truth or not.
proclaimed smurfs boasting about their supposed ranks is such a trivial matter...even Rito couldnt be assed to implement something like this
Never listen if someone says that they are a smurf. Usually if they brag about it, they are lying or are on tilt on their main so they came down to your elo.
I haven't played ranked on my main (Plat 1) since october last year. I want to get back into playing ranked, but I'm not sure if my mechanics are on par, so I play on my smurf. God forbid that I will mention it to anyone. People who do it and try to make a point by claiming that they are smurfing are seemingly toxic players who are banned on their mains and their main account might as well be in the same elo.
