I know I'll get flamed for this but Riot knows exactly what they are doing with every meta. I LOL every time someone says that "Riot has no idea how to balance the game". Of course they do.

Has it ever occurred to you guys that Riot purposely creates a specific meta in order for people to buy new champs? New skins? New icons? Then when a certain amount of time passes they change it up, under the guise of 'balance', just so you can buy those new champs/skins/icons etc...? It also keeps the game fresh as each new meta has a different way to go about the game and since most are slaves to the meta they use different champs to accomplish those goals.

Think about it, if Riot balanced the game right now, it would get stale. You would pick the same few champs for eternity, never doing anything different and from a business standpoint Riot wouldn't grow.

At some point Sales would diminish and to keep things fresh again (and to spark sales) Riot would have to make League of Legends 2. Then League of Legends 3, etc...

By changing the game at each new patch Riot will never need to make a League of Legends 2. They keep your attention. They keep you coming back for more. They keep you buying new skins. New runes, new icons and new champs.

Riot knows exactly what they are doing.

The game gets stale already. Seeing the same shit in ranked and LCS every damn game drives down it's replayability/watchability severely

Game is more stale with Riot's 'change for the sake of change' tampering than it would be if they just focused on properly balancing the game.

There's no diversity left.

"Diversity". Hogwash. Your goal is not the same as Riot's goal.

Riot knows that if they build it, they will come. Riot's diversity is money. Your diversity is a balanced game. A BALANCED GAME DOES NOT MAKE RIOT MORE MONEY. Period.

Do you really think that such a global company has dumb people working for it that they can't balance a game if they want to? Of course they can. They don't for the reasons in the OP. You are just looking st the situation from the other side of the same coin.

As far as seeing the "same shit in ranked"... what does that have to do with balance? The champs played in the LCS are not the champs that people are selecting at low and medium ELO (which makes up the largest player base).

So why would Riot balance the game perfectly if the games in the LCS play so much differently than lower ELO's due to better understanding of team play, warding engage etc.... They know it wouldn't make sense. So they care about ratings. They care about money. And that's exactly the reason Riot purposely doesn't balance the game. Not because they can't. Because they don't want to.

Riot knows what they are doing.

What about all the times they've hotfixed champions because they were just blatantly too strong? lol

They obviously have a good idea at what they're doing, but everyone makes mistakes.
