Can a New Player Enjoy this Game?
I'm just writing to see if anyone has some advice for getting proper matchmaking in this game. I am a very new player with a handful of games and I have just had the worst experience trying to learn how to play. I am just playing 5v5 normal blind mode and it seems as if the players I am going against are incredibly out of my league. When I naturally have difficulty playing to that level, I get called all sorts of colorful language. I have thick enough skin and know about the mute functions, so that part does not bother me so much, but it is beyond frustrating (as it is to my allies, I am sure) to get dumped into a game where I am clearly extremely outclassed. Even with the muting, all of the name calling is really starting to get me down. Should I retain hope that the game will learn my skill level properly over time and match me accordingly?
Someone took pity on me and told me that a majority of players at my level are basically just on alternate accounts so they can exploit new players for wins. What would be the cause to do this? It seems as if my matchmaking goes better if I have a friend in my party to play with, but when I am on my own I am always matched against level 5-15 accounts where the players are seemingly untouchable. Does the game matchmake better if I have a friend who is also struggling to get good results in the game? I have met a few people along the way who share my feelings and some have already given up. I feel so defeated in trying to learn a game that I find very fascinating and deep and while bot games are good for practice, nothing can quite simulate the experience of playing versus other people.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this for a new player? I.E. Strategies for getting a more enjoyable experience out of this game for a new player without having to get obliterated dozens of times before I receive a reasonable PvP experience or is it just the way the game is? Does Normal Blind Pick have an MMR or similar factor that helps match you appropriately and I just haven't played enough games yet? I am really close to just giving up and uninstalling, but I figured I would ask the community first. I really don't want to quit so early on a game that has some interesting appeal to it, but I am really having a hard time justifying the pros vs. the cons and I thought I would at least put my two cents in there as a new player. I know that if I were trying to foster an online gaming experience, I would want feedback from new players and/or players who are looking to abandon the game so quickly. Sorry if I come off a certain way, I just wanted to share my experience as a new player... also apologize if you are on my team in the future...
