But if you want to win,
is kinda the ultimate support. Her Q is an instant long range knockup that can engage, disengage, and interrupt dashes of all kinds, including
and
, she has strong slow potential, can heal and disrupt with her ult, and everyone moves fast around her. She has the lowest death rate in the game, and one of the highest win rates

Janna's tornado is nowhere near instant and if you successfully use it to engage, either someone somehow ate a fully charged Gale to the face or they weren't going to get away anyway.

I'm referring to immediately firing it rather than waiting to charge. When used in this fashion, it's a very versatile and nigh instant engage or disengage at close range. I may have been a little misleading calling that long range, though, as you'll have to charge it for that. That's good zone control potential, though. Another + for her lol

Even double tap Q isn't what I'd call instant, it moves rather slowly.
Tibbers dropping on your face is what I'd call instant - Howling Gale, not so much, lol.
People actually outrun the damn thing unless you were close/you tagged them with W first.
I love Janna but engaging/forcing fights isn't really her strength. Her strength is that you will fight a Janna lane/team only when she wants you to.
Yeah. That's a better explanation. Janna's not an engager, more of a disengager.
really is a must if you want to play support regularly, simply because he is a hard counter to all the engagers
is really strong, simply because she has good disengage, decent engage and sustain.
is really hard, but probably my favorite to play. Hes a bit situational because he needs an adc who can take care of themselves some, but with the right comp he is amazing.
if your team goes all ad
is really strong, but has a hard time against the mobile adcs who seem popular right now
just so much fun, as long as you dont build the frost queen's line of support items on him -.-
bard nami lulu

I like healers.

I like the fragile supports.
Taric. He isn't the most viable at the moment though. If you are trying to learn a support, choose Thresh. He has an insanely overloaded kit, is super versatile, and fits into literally any teamcomp.
I've tried Thresh and was so confused on how to really use him lol. It was only one match though.
I've been trying
and enjoying her pretty well. I like the healing type but I'm still newish to learning the game but so far enjoying it
Try Sona and Nami as well. I'm a former soraka main and while I can still play her well enough, I don't think she's as fun as Nami or Sona anymore.
You are going to want Janna. Janna always does well. Also you want a tank support of some kind. Finally you need an AP support who can morph into a second DD. Morgana, Annie, or Zyra fit that bill. They can all go mid as well.
When I want to keep my ADC alive and do my best - Janna is my most played and most successful champion, she's the equivalent of my try hard pants.
When I want to poke the fuck out of my enemies and win my lane decisively (something that Janna isn't too good at doing). Or this is draft and they picked Janna and I know Sona stomps her. Or Morgana - cute shield, Morg, cute shield...
When I'm sort of in between and I'm in the zone for landing the bubbles (weirdest spell ever, if I'm in the zone they almost all hit especially at clutch moments, if I'm not in the zone it's whiff after whiff and I got a Septa following me around with a bell saying "Shame. Shame. Shame.")
Used to play
a bit pre-rework but I absolutely despise what they did with her so I quit.
I don't really play others except when I play
,
and
for funsies but I don't consider myself solid enough with Karma and Lulu, and I don't consider Lux solid enough as support to do it in serious games.
Probably my favorite. But I find her enjoyable no matter the lane.
He gets a lot of well deserved hate, but he's still fun as it gets.
Generally fun in that she does take some skill to use. Kind of an all-round support if you're not looking for a tank.
That's right. Facing a melee heavy team for some reason? As long as you're good at landing the stun he's amazing. Turrets can be used as wards, allowing you to take a red trinket earlier. Just don't forget to buy sightstone.
,
and
are also fun to use but very limited. They work because they have strong/good CC while having good base damages. Xerath a little less so, but his passive makes it easy for him to poke hard early game.
My favorite support champion is probably Sona
, but that's heavily influenced already by being able to play with the DJ Sona skin.
As far as gameplay goes, I really liked Thresh
for the longest time, but kinda stopped playing with him when I picked up more AP/pokey champions.
(Morgana
, Karma
, Janna
)
depends on your playstyle
you want to be tanky, to have utility, heal, poke damage or be aggressive ?
I like being quick and doing decent heals but I also like to survive and not die super quick lol. With
and a good build at 18 I still seem to go down pretty quick. I'm fast as hell though haha.

aoe heal, stun and shield
has a speed up, shield, slow, a healing ult, kinda complicated in teamfights because 2 of her spells do different things when they target allies/enemies
tank with aoe heal, but his heal affects minions so you can end up accidentally pushing lanes
I have two support mains.
I use
when my team needs more utility/powerful disengage. I can save people, and help them win trades with her often.
I use
when my team needs a tank to absorb damage, and lock people down.
I like
as well, but I use them only when I don't need to fill something for my team comp, and my ADC specifically requests one of them which isn't uncommon.
I'm keeping my eye on
as well. She seems very powerful, but I mostly play against her in solo lane.
,
(you got balls if you try cause he isnt at the moment strong and armor nerfs are gonna hit him hard soon)
.
but mages are doing the best among supports atm and
Thank me later
