Wtf Riot ? I was just scrolling on facebook until I saw the post about reomving SightStone and Ruby SightStone ? Like seriously wtf ? Are you out of your mind ? This is the shittiest thing ( out of many other shitty stuff you did ) I've ever heard of. It's unacceptable. What about the ones who want the active item cdr ? The ones who want the other item's actives ? The ones who want to rush Sightstone and not needing to wait to finish the quest ? Get your shit together.

I completed the quest in two PBE games at 7 minutes 5 seconds and 7 minutes and 24 seconds. You don't need sightstone any earlier than that in the game. Masters-tier and Challenger-tier supports purchased the item on average around 8 - 14 minutes from some quick OP.GG snooping on their recent games.

You have a 5 man team with yellow trinkets and access to control wards for the early game.

They won't remove sight giving support items. All the support starting items will evolve into sight items after finishing their quest for 500 gold (which isn't even that much).

Frost Queen and Talisman active effects are gonna be introduced to possible new items.

Face of the mountain active is the only thing that's not gonna be introduced back into the game... probably cause Guardian keystone fills the same niche.

Stacking item cdr was a problem. 45% item cdr is manageable (ingenious hunter + cosmic insight).

Oh word does guardian keystone trigger when you press a button? Or does it trigger randomly, so you have little to no control over when the shield comes out or if it helps in a fight or not. Ugh, not even sure how you can compare the two...guardian and fotm as they do not fit the same niche.

Guardian triggers when you cast a targeted spell on an ally... so pretty much when you press a button. It also triggers when you are close to an ally and either one receive damage.

The secondary effects might be different (initial speed boost vs delayed dmg/slow) but primary use is the same (shield). Both can be used in either offensive or defensive ways.

Honestly I’m just pissed about the increased price of RP, 20 bucks used to get me 3150 now it’s only 2800. That makes a big difference when all the decent skins today are higher tier in price. Really hope they revert and everyone can get good RP prices again.

Either way, it's a bad practice to give money to billionaire communists. Save it, you don't really need different colored pixels for your champions do you? you can always go online and get the skins for free just...no one else will be able to see it but who cares as long as you're enjoying your different colored/aligned pixels right.

They're going to overhaul a lot of other support items and make them more viable for the role, and make them feel unique instead of just, "This item is a ward with health." Them deleting the two items isn't the end of the world, especially since they're going to make changes to others as well. We don't even know all the details yet, so don't tell the company to, "Get their shit together," when we aren't even positive what the exact changes look like.

Generally Riot's changes are shitty and game breaking, I have no faith in them reintroducing new items that could, possibly, "fit the role". If they introduced support items/retuned stuff and other lanes are abusing it now...I don't see why that won't just happen again. They can't balance shit because they never fix anything they previously broke before they try to fix something else and it all snowballs into a shitshow.

If by more viable, you mean watered down and less fun?

Before when i completed my support quest I got a Dank ass passive stacking shield when procing minions item 3097 , lit AF MS when proccing Damaging item 3098 enemy champions and sick as hell Gold and mana back as well as MS for my allies moving to me. item 3096

Lets not even talk about how it removes the option for non supports to opt into sightstone if they really wanted to.

These were permanent buffs that changed the way you play the champ just because you chose a given item to start with in the support role.

Now I just get a fanfare saying "congratulations, you won permission to ward!"

It's stupid, not only because it is not even remotely comparable in terms of a fulfilling or compelling gameplay element or reward to make the role unique and attractive, but it is litterally giving you permission to do something that they took the ability for you to do otherwise away.

Imagine if your parents forced you to eat Brocoli for supper for a month, but you hate Broccoli, but you put up with it because you know its good for you. Whatsmore is your parents promise to get you a new videogame if you do all your chores. Then the next month they decide, you can't eat broccoli anymore, and now instead of a new videogame for doing all your chores, you instead earn permission to have broccoli for supper again.

That is essentially what this change amounts to, and it is honestly insulting that we are being expected to just go along with it.

It's nothing more than watering down of the position and itemization.

This is just so more people can build an additional damage item. It's fucking disgusting. I'm absolutely done with Support for now. I used to main that role for 3 years and then they turn it into a secondary Mid lane. Disgraceful.

I think people overestimate how long it takes to complete the quests.

Between the GP5, the Bandit passive, and the items' own gold generation, plus the fact that the changelist also reduces the quest from 750 to 500 gold.

Don't understand how this was designed for "noobs, casuals, and new players" when the following is true: Noobs and new players wouldn't buy the support item in the first place to transform it and casuals still know how to play the game and build but do not play it as much.

Casuals don't know how to play the game and build. Noobs would buy the support item, as generally noobs ask what should they buy, and generally people will tell a support to buy a support item...... Anyone under diamond 1 in NA doesn't know how to play the game yet. The game remained more or less the same with small meta changes for almost 2 seasons, yet the majority of the player base still had no idea how to play it. And to be completely honest, the core concepts of the game are unchanged since season 1, yet still people are clueless how to play... Nobody except a small amount of people who really care about learning and improving at a simple game like League will improve, the rest will remain shit tier and take any opportunity to get a free win, such as using broken items, picking broken champions exclusively, etc. This causes them to get a confirmation bias, perpetuating their being bad at league of legends because they think..."hey I dove into a teamfight with tristana and got a double kill and got out, so that means I should always jump into team fights and not worry about positioning." Little does that new/casual player know that he just happens to be on a broken, overtuned champion and diving into teamfights isn't the best idea for all champions, however he thinks it was the correct play and the cycle of terrible players succeeding with broken champions, learning nothing and ranking up continues. And NA stays bottom of the barrel competitively because of it, among other things.

All the things Riot does is for "noobs" and to make money, they break champions when they are going to release a skin for that champion because that is the most effective way to get people to buy it...if a champ is broken, more people want it and if a champ is going to be played a lot more people want skins for that champ, it's common sense. Generally, only casuals and idiots buy skins/microtransactions from video games, because people with brains know that it's just a scam. Like, if you understand it's just pixels and realize how shitty of a company Riot is, you almost certainly won't buy anything from them, but if you're a new guy unaware of how corrupt Riot is, you're much more likely to buy that Ezreal skin because Ezreal was just buffed and you want to play him because he's broken so you can get those freelos, even though you're unable to land his q more than 10% of the time.

This is the reason Riot has "metas" to give them an excuse to overpower some champions for no reason (other than to make money) and to nerf champions that they have exhausted the income from. When people stop buying skins for a champion or the newly broken champion itself, that champion gets nerfed. Which is why they reduced the amount of BE you can acquire, to make the grind of earning the champ you want harder, motivating people to buy more RP which they increased the price on. Rinse and repeat since season 4

Active item CDR was a balance nightmare. Overly frequent Redemptions and Banner/Zz'Rot. They may reintroduce a bit of it later, but 65% is ridiculous.

The ones who want the other item's actives ?

Twin Shadows and Shurelya's Reverie may come back in some form with the AP itemization overhaul. As for the shielding, Locket exists, and the 800 unspent gold will help you get any of those quicker than before, probably with better stats. Also, the item active versions were subpar for a while now. The only one I still built a lot was Talisman.

Rushing Sightstone was a gold consuming nobrainer that made early kills extremely advantageous by preventing any gank extremely quickly. Quests are less snowbally, which is what the boards want, right? And in the case it takes too much time, it's easier to balance.

If you combine runes in Inspiration and Domination that reduce active item CDR, and Ruby Sightstone, you get item actives on like a 20 - 30 second cooldown.

You do know that Active item CDR is already provided by the Ingenious Hunter rune under the Domination path which states 10% base item CDR + 6 per Bounty Hunter stack (maximum of 40%)? This is a pretty big deal to me, especially when takedowns mean either kills or assists, and you only need 1 of each champions. This is double of what you had with a Ruby Sightstone, which was 20%.

Second rune is Cosmic Insight (under the Inspiration Path), which grants youflat +5% active item CDR already. Sightstone providing yet another active item CDR bonus is not ideal because then the CDs of such items (generally in the support's hands) tend to go overboard with the amount of other bonuses to heals + shields and Aery they get on top of it.

As much as everyone and their mother complains about the damage being high, there's also a thing to say about getting the right items in a certain supports hands and pretty much mitigating any damage done to a target off being purely passive and tossing a heal (or a shield) or two at them.

The already ideal rune setups for most supports are Aery (Sorcery) + something so you can always pick Domination secondary and opt into hunter mastery if you really need this. Or Resolve + something. I really see no issue here with supports "lacking" in item CDR with the removal of Sightstone. You still have it but it won't be as easy as spending 800 gold on it. You need to be active to earn it by scoring 5 unique takedowns, which means that full 40% won't be as easy to get in the early game. It's more of a mid/late game bonus which at that point, is justified to have.

The point of a Sightstone being removed was to eliminate the 800 gold cost requirement to being a support, meaning that this gold can be used to get an active item that synergizes well with champions on such positions while still retaining the ability to ward, after doing a quest during laning phase. This means that now even more champions can try for supports instead of just being exclusive to actual supports.

There was also this thing a year or so back where people were admonishing Riot for having this effect of item CDR reduction "tacked on" Ruby Sightstone to increase its upgrade value to be able to compete with Eye upgrades or offensive options like FQC, Medallion and Face. The players have clearly said that it's "not as good" as actual CDR and now that it's going away (still not being flat out removed as there is a 2x more effective option that doesn't take up an item slot), it's the opposite "we need this, why are you removing it" argument...

I wish that you can just pick a side... You can't sit in the middle and put your foot in the yard that looks greener and call it yours on convenience.
