Thoughts on selecting the role you DON'T want for draft play?

For a while it's been apparent to me that the draft system of choosing roles is not quite perfect. I got to thinking that quite often, I would prefer to be able to select one role that I don't want to play, rather than two I do. I tend to choose fill options a lot, but I know people who dislike playing one role in particular, so this system would be really useful for them.

Of course, many people would select support, but that doesn't really change how the draft selection works now, but opens up the option for a lot of people who dislike Jungle or Toplane etc to just fill with one exception. With such an option, you could reduce queue times a great deal, and allow for an option of role selection that reflects some people's needs a lot better.

Just a thought, anyone agree?

The current system for role selection is fine. Quite frankly, I'm much happier waiting a little longer to play a role I enjoy than having a shorter wait for a role I don't enjoy or practice.

The main issue with the queues currently is having to account for premade groups (and their existence greatly widening the MMR range of players within a game) and the low popularity of the support role.

Queue times aren't really much of an issue except in the higher tiers of play (i.e. Diamond, Master and Challenger). Just browser the web or watch a video while you are in queue; I don't think mine are ever much longer than 6 minutes.

honestly its the worst of both worlds.

the previous system was good matchmaking with short queues, but you don't get your role.

now you get your role but you have to wait and the matchmaking is worse because of the wait.

in your proposed solution you don't get your role, you have to wait (waiting is 90% shortage in supports), and matchmaking isn't that good as a result.
