Report option in Champion Select

I strongly feel there should be an option to report people during Champion Select instead of just at the end of the game. There have been several accounts for everybody I'm sure, where people are trolls or just plain douches in pre-game chat.

I recently had a Queue where I made it to champ select and one person was asking us to dodge for him since he had to go, that it was an "emergency" and was in "Promo's". No one wanted to dodge for him and said he should take the loss since it wasn't our fault he got into a game he couldn't play. Eventually when no one dodged he autolocked Teemo and picked Clairvoyance{{summoner:2}} , Claritysummoner 13 summoner skills... forcing someone TO dodge if they didnt want a fk'd game before it even began. After that, I got the feeling I shouldn't trust the dude and looked up his summoner name on LoLNexus.com where it told me that he was in Champ Select, and then a few minutes later that he was in game... and NOT in his Promo's...

I wish there was some way to Report the dude for trying to throw or force players out of their hard earned LP just because he didn't get the role he wanted or whatever his reasons were.... I sent a ticket to Riot and they told me to make a forum post about the incident, so I am.

Aside from this experience, the rage and toxicity in pre-game chat is real and excessive at times. It would really make a world of difference if there was some way to report players for their actions not just after a game has passed.

I am not sure how this new system of reporting would look but perhaps maybe you would have the option to report after a dodge takes place. There might be a new tab under the chat section similar to the "Recently Played" one. Some ideas of reasons to ban might consist of: Toxic, Refusing to Communicate, Griefing (troll pick because they didnt get their role).

If anyone else thinks this is a good idea. PLEASE respond to this forum and we can try to get Riot to consider it! Thanks!

Truthfully, just having an option to report people in a place that is not at the end of the game would be useful, for those several and constant instances where the lol client is busted and doesn't even let you see the results lobby. The real reason that people are stuck in bronze/silver is because Riot only cares about the higher end players(read: created a brand new high rank called master for no legit reason) and won't address the failure to match skill levels properly in beginning levels, locking people with shit players causing them to be locked indefinitely because they can't climb out. That is another post for another day though.

Yes, there should be more report buttons.

Agreed! I completely forgot about things like that when I made this post. I can name a handful of times that I wanted to report someone after a game but either forgot to before I closed out, or it glitched and didn't bring up the stats page. I will have to look into those articles you mentioned, though at the same time maybe the whole ignorance is bliss thing might come into play haha. BUT, how can anything be resolved if people dont educate themselves on the topic and make a stand! ^-^ Thanks for the share!

My latest match: I picked Trundle and our last pick decided he was going to troll me because Trundle is a troll, get it, hahahahaha. Just like that he said "time to troll", picked jungle Ashe with no provocation and tried to steal my jungle.

We owned the enemy but lost in the end when Ashe started intentionally feeding.

ouch... that sucks. It's one thing to mess with someone in norms (not that im approving) but in Ranked?! I hope that person got set on the sidelines of ranked for a while with the reports.

Agreed. You get to many people who just say i want xyz champ doesnt matter if they are countering themselves or crying over xyz lane and not getting it. Especially in ranked. Im sure there are quite a few decent players stuck in silver because good players must be penalized for having a team that trolls or is toxic. This kind of behavior has been a very long standing issue that riot wont fix and never will fix. This behavior will continue and in the end only harm players in ranked for years to come.

Hahaha, well aren't you a negative nancy! :P ^-^ things will only never change if we dont make a big enough stand to counteract it! Just like with politics. Make enough noise and they will have to do something eventually. They already are taking steps to creating a better ranked environment! Dont forget they just added in the whole 'if you get reported enough you have to sit out on ranked until you play xyz # of normal draft games' this will eventually start to make a noticeable difference. Now all we need to do is find more ways of holding others accountable for their actions, which is what im trying to do here! :)

Maybe you should accommodate to him if you don't want a fucked up game in the first place. Otherwise you're being just as selfish.

This is true, but what if they can't play the role he got stuck with either? Accommodating for them is all well and good, but its not right for them to "threaten" others without consequence just because they don't get to play what they want. Technically when you ranked you should have proficiency with at least all the role, or at least have champions you can play in them if you don't. As long as you explain you will suck, its fine, and your teams fault for allowing you to be in that position. They have no right to blame you and if they do, they knew it going in, so they took the risk. Its not right for someone to just throw a tantrum just because they don't want to play and decide to troll and force other players to dodge just because they don't like what happened.

I agree. I am not too fond of pick order because its the worst when you get forced into a role you cant play, but I also agree that you should be able to somewhat play every role when getting involved with Ranked BECAUSE some people are diks about pick order. I can play a few roles even tho I main support and usually duo bot with my ranked partner whom also can play other roles. So we are happy to accomodate if someone really cant play anything else... it just sucks when you give up the role your best at for someone who ends up costing you the game.

He actually never said Anything before he said he had to go. Some roles were called but the first thing he said was that one of us should dodge for him.

I realized after I made this post that I shouldn't have put "Report IN Champion Select" But rather "Report Option Outside of End Game" would have been better. Also, to be fair, normal Report system get's abused too, so I honestly dont think it would be a big deal to have another option. I feel like it would do more good than harm in all honestly :)

I feel as if an option such as this would be abused way too much. Sure, I can see the obvious pros to having a report option in champ select, but what if someone got mad and decided to report YOU for taking a champ that you had selected prior? Its a nice idea, but I feel as if its not the best. If anything, I feel as if the "Show Mercy" option that would appear for the enemy team would be more sufficient.

If we can push the idea of a Show Mercy option, where the enemy team votes to on whether or not the losing team should lose the LP and promo match because of afks or trolls (only triggered if someone goes 0-2 kills and 12+ deaths. Supports are excluded), then I feel as if the losing team would suffer much less from those undesirable players.

So, I feel like you're thinking in the right direction, just not in the right ways.
