Champion updates

Wait, wait wait. Shen (a viable Top Laner/support with a 10% pickrate) and Taric (the slightly less viable support/Top Laner with a 3% pickrate) are being reworked before Yorick, who has a winrate of 47% and a pick rate that usually hovers just below 1%?

Yorick, the former lane-brick who loses to almost any top match at the moment? [In pick order: Yasuo (Because of the crit sustain), Jax (because mid and late game are things that exist), Tryn (because of crit sustain), Riven (because he never wins vs riven), Mundo (almost a skill matchup, but he sustains far better), Renekton (has always lost to aggressive renektons), Irelia, Darius (who now has a heal on his main damage ability), Nasus...

Yorick who only contributes by cloning an ADC or high value carry that's about to go down, and then body blocking any skillshots that come their way?

Yorick, the champ that was promised a rework 3 seasons ago?

At least add him to the list of things you're going to rework. At least pretend like you care.

  1. Shen's rework is not going to be anywhere near the scale of either Yorick or Taric. It will probably be more in line with the recent ADC changes.
  2. A rework was planned for Yorick many many months ago. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3605329&page=1 Some work was done, but it didn't work out and so was put on hold. If you are doing something creative but are having difficulty sometimes the best thing to do is step away from that project completely and come back to it later. Between then and now the Champ-Up team was created. They took a look at all the champions in the game and set up a list of priorities. My guess is that the Yorick rework had been recently shelved when they started work, so they steered clear of him for a little bit. He is a big projet, so this added a sizeable delay.
