What does it take to get an S rank?

So, first off, i've seen this a lot when playing in my games, where someone straight up carries a game and makes the team get that win and get a lesser grade than someone else on their team. This was the case for me a while back, I was playing and wen't 26/3/22 got an A+ and a who went 16/7/21 and a who went 5/10/13 who both got S and S- respectively, while having a worse score than me. I understand that grade is not all about score, but when you carry your team to victory and dont get rewarded for it, it feels bad. Could someone explain in a little more detail what goes in to calculating the champion mastery grade?

I've gotten higher grades on volibear while feeding. Somehow I got an A this match: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2207424678/32194134?tab=overview

IDK what it takes either, but the system is rigged. Volibear is my main, and I havn't gotten an S since mastery patch. My guess is they changed it to be further influenced by enemy players elo or champion mastery.... I just know its bs.

so im just going to say this, an s rank from what can tell has to do with the length of the game, how much you play the champ, how much farm you have, and your kda

Apparently CS and objective control is a big thing. Wards too. The more wards you place the better. It does feel a bit frustrating when you get maybe a B+ or A+ but no S despite doing really well. :(

I know that feeling. I went 35/10/20 as Ashe got a quadrakill and my very first pentakill a few days ago when I was playing with my friend.he was also snowballing. I had more kills, less deaths, and my assists and farm was par with him. I got an a+ and he got an s rank. I consequently still got a case. this game was 1 hour. I don't play too much ADC but I decided to but it's a not so contested role so I will get it of I pick it. I do have a lvl 5 mastery on her. Nothing higher yet. It's probably some shitty RNGesus.

Most of these QQ threads cling to the belief that the individual in question deserved a grade based upon their performance within a match.

I've gone 22/2/14 as Akali and failed to get an S despite most damage, damage taken and 2nd most wards placed. Sure CS could have been better, but then someone on my team (top lane) went 16/11/11 and got an S+. Didn't destroy any turrets, was there for a portion of the kills and dragons.

I don't get it.
