Returning Player Question?
Hey, so I creep these boards a lot but never post. So I'll preface this by saying I originally left LoL three years ago for other mobas after I couldn't take the pure toxicity that pervaded the community.
After coming back about a week ago I was genuinely surprised by how much nicer a large section of the community is. Yeah there's still that one bronze rank kid in unranked who flames his whole team to oblivion as he goes 0-6 during lane but I can live with that.
This is a half question/half rant but the only truly strange experience was playing as support. Normally I enjoy the role in other games so I don't expect a thank you or gj for for playing the role, but it struck me not only how unappreciated, but also misunderstood supports are by their carries.
First time I noticed this was as we were pushing lane and as adc my supp dives the enemy tower and last hits a champ securing us the lane. He then say 'Sry!!!' As I'm typing 'woah nice job' and proceeds to tell me that he was surprised because so many support players get torn a new one for a secured champ kill in lane. After that he followed me whole game kept me up through things I should've never lived through and was amazing.
A few games later Im playing support with a level 28 adc who screams like hell at me for taking stealing his cs. I stop walk back to tower say sorry didn't know you needed everything and spend the next 3 minutes explaining how relic shield works and that it doesn't hurt him in the least and let's me lane with him longer with more mana for not wasting it on chip damage and how supports work. All he has to say is 'oh, well that's fine.'
This wasn't just a one time occurrence, it happens all the time. Like when I get flamed by my adc for feeding as I die body blocking an Ashe ult as he tries to retreat from a reckless tower dive for the nth time. And I have to defend myself for saving his sorry ass keeping him in lane longer.
So in closing TL;DR, do adcs really not understand or appreciate all the hard work their supports put in for them, or is it just my experience?
