Aurelion Sol stole my IPs

I saved up my IP to get Aurelion Sol and was so surprised at how slow he is. I get it - his stars do damage, but you can't get away from anyone. I am a flag waving "kill me". Disappointing. If anyone can add a link that might help me to play this champ, i would appreciate it. I have read build guides, but nothing really prepared me for the target that Aurelion Sol is.

And yeah, I am new to LOL. Being a new player and painfully saving up points to end up with a disappointing champ is - well, a real bummer. If there was an option to sell the champ back at half price, I would do that at this point.

You just bought one of the highest skill based champion in all of League. Of course, you're going to find him difficult to play effectively.

don't buy expensive champs without testing them when they're on free week

Aol Sol is all about positioning and matchups. Dude needs to be in the right place all the time to be a factor, it isn't easy lol. If your super new I highly recommend trying every free week champions in a game of bots to get a feel for their kit and if you enjoy their playstyle. GL and hf on the rift dog.

I did the same thing with aatrox.

yes, you can refund champions. You have 3 refund tokens you can use, but you can never get more. You happened to buy a champion that has a pretty high skill floor and requires really good positioning. I wouldn't be so fast to refund him though, because he's really good if you put the time in to learn to play him.

... You might want to do something about your Mastery pages, you seem to be missing Keystones. You can get extra damage and mobility from them.

You have refund tokens if I remember correctly, but I would recommend you wait until the champion is free next time or use PBE to try out champions.

I wouldn't start out with him if you're new.

But really just shove the first few waves to hit lv.3, if you can gank anyone do it, otherwise back for dark seal + boots + control ward. After that just keep shoving, don't die and roam. build item 3030 + item 3116 + item 3009 + item 3151. Teamfighting use your cc to either peel or catch out a straggler, but most of all you need perfect positioning. The positioning is hard, the laning is hard, he's just kinda hard.

There's the issue. You're new, you're not experienced with handling champs and their kits yet. I recommend getting an easier champ to play, then learning mechanics, how to farm CS, and what items are good on certain champs/situations. and THEN start learning some of the somewhat more mechanically needy champs like Aurelion Sol where your placement and position control matter.

Also I would recommend getting a Rylais Crystal Scepter item 3116 on him since then everything that gets damaged by his stars will get slowed, which allows him better control of dealing with the enemy.
