Bots? Why?

As I got some free time, I could do some missions of the project event. As I went to COOP vs. IA, I got more and more recently bots. Yes, bots, behaving like braindead people, even more braindead than the IA. I just wonder, WHY. Why there are SO many bots and what's the point of their appereance. I doubt that Riot made them to make a much quickier matchmaking.

You can see a few games where there are bots, the usually pick adc champs.

There's always been all these bots, but they used to mostly just be in Twisted Treeline. Now that Treeline is being removed, the botters will be moving to Rift. Once Treeline is actually gone, not only will you see them in Rift bot matches, you will see them in Rift PvP matches.

At any rate people, not Riot, make these accounts, have a bot play them until they reach level 30, then sell them to other players who want a new account but don't want to grind the levels.
