Ranked 1v1?

Why isn't there a ranked 1v1 system? Definitely should make this. I am pissed off and sick and tired of getting bad, toxic, or feeding teammates. I have beaten a platinum 2 in lane and plenty of gold players but wonder if they are so easy, how are they in gold? It blows my mind. In fact, my friend is in gold 2 and he plays primarily support. When we 1v1 I beat him 9 times out of 10! Please think about this....I would really love a ranked 1v1 system, it is getting so frustrating to see constant failure because of teammates and not yourself. Trying to encourage teammates in league is impossible if you know the game. However it appears I ALWAYS get the losing side of this game whenever I play ranked YET I am doing good!

I would be 10-4 on adc and we lose.

Next game I go 14-8 on Xin Zhao and we lose.

Next game I go 18-7 on Zed and we lose.

Sigh, please create a 1v1 ranked system ;(

I'm about to quit this game because of this.

Sounds to me like you don't understand the game. So while you might have above average (for your mmr) mechanics, you're unable to translate early game leads into victories.

You should ask your friends for tips. Support mains tend to have above average (for their mmr) game sense, because so much of their efforts are focused on that.

Why are you playing against a friend that is primary support? Of course you're going to beat him.

The only reason I would say 1v1 would be bland is for a few reasons.

How do we set the terms for the win? Like they used to be? First person to die? First turret to go? 100 cs? Or do we go with nexus dying?

Another would be, anything that is good at dueling, would pretty much win. Exhaust, Ignite would also be the only summoner spells you would see. To much power at lvl 1.

Nothing to really worry about, other than the one person. What does this prove? Not much. 5v5 throws in much more variables than what a small 1v1 would ever accomplish.

Finally, quit the game. If this is the only thing that would make you quit the game, better off just quitting.

Actually my buddy is primarily support in ranked games, but also has jg/top champs in his champion pool. He also plays Gragas, Darius, Illaoi, Jax, Xin Zhao, Rek'Sai, Gnar whenever we play normals just to mess around. So don't assume just because he plays support that his microplay is poor, he knows how to play other lanes well.

Terms for a 1v1 win? I'd say the matches would either have to be categorized as a mirror match OR you would have to play champs that normally play their role, for example tank top vs tank top champs or assassin mid vs assassin mid champs ONLY. First blood, nexus, 100 cs those would be some example objectives.

Yeah I have quit ranked for now it is a complete broken system in lower elo, anyone who doesn't believe it isn't is lying to themselves. The ranked system rewards "winning streaks" and not actually skill of the game.

The Ranked system does not acknowledge individual performance as well.

It is unfair for me to go 10-2 and get key objectives and receive an S or A letter grade and end up losing the same amount of LP as someone else on my team that fed and went 1-9 for example. OR why do I lose LP when my teammates dc? That needs to be addressed as well.

Why does an enemy teammate who received, let's say a "C or D" grade, deserve 20 LP when he most likely got carried?

RIOT NEEDS TO INCORPORATE THE GRADING SYSTEM WITH LP LOSS OR GAIN.

If you get an A or S and LOSE a ranked game you should lose a max of 10 LP for example.

In contrast, if you get a C or D and WIN a ranked game you should only gain a max of 10 LP.

This would be a much more fair and TRUE system in my honest opinion.

If you don´t like American Football, go play Tennis but don´t tell the NFL to do a 1 vs 1 league because you dislike teamsport.

And if you don´t can carry with that stats it is your fault - very clearly - because you are not a teamplayer.

I Love american football btw (Huge Packers and Patriots fan) :D

Yes partially true, I dislike the game because it involves people I cannot rely on (I am not saying I never have a bad/unlucky game).

It's no wonder on my smurf account I was in gold 3/gold 4 flex queue with friends I usually play with but in solo queue I was hardstuck silver 2/silver 1 COMPLETE BS. The reason is I can trust my friends not to feed bot and if they do they'll know to play safe until we come help them with a dive or a tower objective.

Another difference is communication thru discord but in solo queue I see achieving these objectives NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.

How can I be a main mid gold 3 level player with friends and then in solo queue I can't even pass my promos to get into gold 5?! Blows my mind

For now it is a broken system imo, solo queue at least. No emphasis on individual skills AT ALL.

I don´t think so. It is a system wich partially based on luck. But this part can be minimized with skills. You can get out of Bronze I guess? The difference Bronze->Silver and Silver->Gold in terms of "what is needed" is imho the same. Just another level of it. So every Diamond player will get out of Silver not because he wishes to or because of luck but because of knowledge.

Rank in flex can not be compared to solo. The pool of players and the amount of matches in flex is not the same (both much less).

Yes I am hardstuck silver 1 player but in flex I am currently gold 4 (I hit gold 3 but got demoted) on my smurf.

Yes but difference is I cannot even get to gold V and I have over 20 games in just silver 1 ranked now. I know it is only two weeks I have been trying to get out of silver 1 but that seems too long it is making me believe the system is broken. How can I reach gold 3 flex but not even get into lowest tier gold in solo queue?

Kind of broken....I lane against gold players all the time in flex no problem..feels like a regular normal or draft game

20 Games is not much. There is a streamer for support wich was diamond in S6 and plat5 in S7. He was ranked gold3 now after placements and dropped to gold5. It needed another 3 weeks or so to climb back and he is gold1 actually. The way gold3->gold5->gold1 is imho between 100 and 200 matches.

Ranking seems very volatile. Near skill cap it will be just luck if someone is gold 4, gold 5 or silver1 if seen over a series of 100 matches. Otherwise someone wich is normally a platin-player as the above mentioned support-streamer could never drop to gold5. The differeces between the divisions are not that remarkable. So - if you try another 50 matches it may be that you reach gold5, you could drop to silver2 or you can climb to gold4. I think that all this can happen with given skill. A bit luck (or not) and some differences in concentration and the better coffee for breakfast.

Thanks for the feedback and intuition.....perhaps I gave up too early. It is still early in the season but over the past 2 almost 3 weeks now made ranking seem so useless after no progress.

20+ games of ranking is actually really long for me I only get to play around 2 games each day so it made me miserable when some days I win two in a row then next day lose two etc. or constantly going 1-1

If u think 100-200 games is average then I trust you maybe this will take longer than I thought, im sad asf..stuck in silver elo all I want is my gold 3 back
