Why is Riot completely incompetent?

ARAM has been plagued with bots for as long as i can remember, and we all know money certainly isnt the issue. So it clearly comes down to a matter of them just not caring right?

aside from not having mysteries during loading screens, not joining the pre-game chat, firing most spells in reverse, multiple standing in the exact same place, incessant feeding, lack of communication, its real hard to pin-point them huh?

now listen EVERYONE. i know they ban bots in waves to make it harder for the bot creators to figure out how riot detects them. but you forget 2 very important things.

nr 1. these bots ALWAYS play with the same summoners, runepage, the same behavior AND USUALLY STATS OF 0/30 OR WORSE! well how does riot detect them i wonder? if some acc has the same stats runes summoners for over 300 games I WONDER!? nr 2. bots will always exist. no matter what. they will ALWAYS exist. so riot has 2 options. either ban them right away and risk "having more of them" (lol) or ban them like every 2-3 month and have them ruin THOUSANDS of games ON A DAILY BASE!. now YOU tell me what would you do. piss off all your customers so that you dont "risk having more bots" or take a few more bots (doesnt matter anymore at this point) but make sure your customers know you do something against them right away???

basically: riot does NOT care enough. and they care in the wrong way.

They are actually detected pretty easily. The unfortunate part comes in when they are able to make accounts in mass, endlessly, because the game is free and they can just bot email accounts to sign up. Also, once detected they aren't necessarily immediately banned; it sounds like nonsense, but the accounts are instead banned regularly in waves to prevent the bot makers from figuring out how they got caught and adjusting their programs to compensate and continue on even longer.

I too wish there were better ways to prevent them from getting into a game in the first place, but Riot can't so easily do things like that which would impede the play of real players and cause even more grief for them.

TL;DR - They are banned, it just happens in waves so may take a few days or a week or so before it hits.

this was just explained why that's a terrible system..

Hmm a brief stutter before i start the game to ensure a playable match? or joining dozens of games with bots fucking that all up?

Riot should do something about account creation spamming then. I know that is not easy (you can't tie an account to an e-mail address, because it's easy to create hundreds of them), but maybe to the client/computer? Make it so that when you first log on to a LoL client on a PC, the client will always use this account name for login in the future and account switching is not possible unless reinstallating or a manual reactivation process. I know this has downsides, but it would greatly help with bots and smurfs at the same time.

They are supposedly finally working on 2-factor authentication this year, so I'm hoping additional security leads to something that can help.

Restricting computers to a single account isn't a viable option though, people play multiple accounts or there are multiple users on the same PC for legitimate reasons very frequently.

If you get to a certain MMR in Aram, you stop seeing bots. I never see bots in ARAM anymore. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sure, call it sadness if you want. I'm not the one stuck playing against bots though.

Well, because it is sad.

I rarely play at all, I'd just like it to be enjoyable when I do. Really not asking much from a gigantic gaming company when they have the resources to fix the problem.

Anyways thanks for your great input to this thread, you really moved the dialogue forward champ.
