Why do so many people give up after early game?

Every other game it seems there are one or more players that spam surrender starting at 15 minutes because laning phase didn't go as well as they wanted. Doesn't matter if both teams have even kills/turrets they just give up cause they can't play how they want to play.

I'm Plat 2 right now, but this happens all over ranked in all divisions it seems. If you don't want to or can't handle league pressure, don't play ranked at the very least.

Because Riot catered to their 'shorter' game demands so they can lose and then proceed to lose again. It is weak mindedness. They don't want to slug through mid to late game because 'its harrrrd' item 3070 . YOUR TEAM COULD BE WINNING but if they aren't having a good kda game they tilt and want to quit. It is selfish and disgusting to me personally.

Probably tilted as hell, and playing from behind sucks in general.

Exactly what i've ran into. Do people understand the concept of late game champions and scaling? Recently I played a game where 3/5 players were agreeing to surrender at 15 mins. Luckily me and another player knew better. We came back and won, partly because I carried hard too but still.

Agree. A huge reason why games go so fast is people in my elo are convinced that if you aren't ahead by 15 minutes, regardless of team comp, then you autolose.

Because riot has consistently and repeatedly increased snowballing, while removing countermeasures, for years. Case in point, there's been numerous popular posts complaining about how quickly towers are taken down, yet riot remakes the herald buff to basically instantly destroy a tower. Damage scales up faster and harder than ever, durability has gone down, making turtling next to pointless; the list goes on.

Because so many games are over at 10 minutes
